Vehicle Detail
Up for auction, a classic and very collectible '74 Honda CR250 Elsinore. If you are a vintage motocross enthusiast and are looking to add a nice Elsinore to your collection here's your chance to get one at No Reserve. The bike itself is in great shape. The frame is straight and the footpegs are level and the stock Honda side stand is still attached for easy display of your cycle. The forks have polished lowers and the chrome tubes are in excellent shape. The rims have no cracks or flat spots and the spokes are new. The front tire is the original issue Dunlop Sports. The engine is oil tight and strong running with a smooth clutch. The motor has the correct ignition cover and the kickstarter gear doesn't slip. The fenders and sidepanels have never been bent or cracked and the front numberplate has the correct rubber strap holding it in place. The handlebars are straight as an arrow and the chrome is perfect, and the levers, throttle assembly, grips, and kill switch are OEM Honda parts. The seat is all new with a perfect seat base and new foam and seatcover. The chain and sprockets are fresh and the rear sprocket is held in place with the correct NOS lock washers. The exhaust system is dent-free and has all the correct clamps and the "pickle" silencer. Underneath the restored tank and bodywork, is all the original Honda wiring with the correct aluminum wire ties keeping everything in place. I installed a new quality Twin-Air air filter and it connects to the original Keihin carb with all of the OEM clamps and rubber intake parts. The only things I noticed with the bike to keep it from being showroom new are rather minor. One engine stud is broken off, the top triple clamp nut is incorrect, the aluminum tank has a vinyl black pinstripe instead of paint, and the front engine motor bolts should be castle nuts with cotter pins. The bike comes with a Bill of Sale only, I do not have a vehicle title. The frame does have a VIN tag and I have never seen an original Honda VIN tag before on a '74 Elsinore. Good luck bidding.
