Vehicle Detail

wrenchhead28 Store Relisting this project as apparently I had it in the wrong category before. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Volkswagen VW Manx style dune buggy. Right now it is in dire need of restoration. The fiberglass body has been disconnected from the pan. Apparently it runs fine, but I haven't tested it since buying the project. The engine does turn over though. It is kind of a basket case. As you can see in the pictures the body is very sun faded. It could use a new paint job. The shortened vw pan has some rust holes in it, but these pans are easy to replace. I was thinking about cutting them out and putting an aluminum diamond plate floor pan in it. Stock pan replacements are cheap and easy to find. A little welding would be required. The roll bar, windshield and frame come with it. Also we have both tube bumpers, the canvas top (though it needs replacement this would make a good pattern) The tires hold air but they need replacement. You will also get the fiberglass seat pans and covers/cushions and a set of trans-am seats to use. he original steering column had been welded and was broken at the shear point. I purchased a replacement for it which is included. Also including a gas tank to replace the hole riddled original tank. There is a pair of vw wheels to replace the chevy rims on the back. My plan was to widen the back vw wheels and use moon hubcaps all around. One thing that is kind of odd is that the vin number is stamped on a plate, which is riveted to the tunnel in the floor pan. It seems like it isn't original, but I don't know for sure. These sand buggys are coming back into style! Have an easy restoration project for the winter months, and be turning heads in the spring! There are some extra chrome parts that I acquired in my quest to gather restoration parts for this dunebuggy. I believe it would be street legal, but I haven't looked that deeply into it. I was thinking it would be a unique hot rod project to put together. It is being stored in a garage right now, I can store it through to the end of August and then I would have to start charging rent at 75 dollars per month. I am selling it because I probably won't have the time to finish her up anytime soon. This project and all its extra components easily fits onto the 12 foot uhaul trailer as you can see in the images. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please ask
