Vehicle Detail

Welcoming bids on a 1977 F250 Ford Truck (Factory High Rider per Ford - some refer to it as a highboy). This truck runs, sounds, and looks great. It has a complete frame off restoration that was completed in 2002. This truck has a nice stance, rides smooth, and is easy to drive. This truck has been driven locally every summer since the restoration, but it has not seen a lot of miles since the restoration (less than 15,000). It has no idea what snow or rain is. Engine: 1977 Ford 460 The deep dish pistons were discarded and replaced with flat tops bringing compression to about 10:1 - runs fine on 93 octane fuel. A higher lift Crane cam replaced the original with straight up timing. The heads are open chamber that have been ported to match the Super Cobra Jet intake. Above the intake is a Carter AFB Carb - you could add some power if you want by switching to a Holley - but the Carter is much more reliable. The ignition is an MSD 6AL and it has a super duty coil. The engine runs great, is responsive and reliable. It does not run hot since a new large capacity heavy duty radiator was installed during the restoration. The exhaust exits in front of the rear tires and the chrome tips add a very rich sound. It has a four speed manual with a granny gear. Clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing were replaced and operate smooth. The Transfer case is divorced from the Transmission as they always are with the High boy trucks. As can be seen in the photos, the front drive shaft is longer than the rear - this cuts down on the u-joint angle with the higher stance - which has been raised by 3 inches in the front and 2 inches in the rear from Stock. Body All the metal - Cab, Doors, Fenders, Bed are original rust free Ford parts. None of the body parts were replaced with imported after market parts. The cab and fenders came from Texas - when you shut the doors, they have that stock solid sound. The bed came from Florida. The bed is a camper special - It has the tool box on the lower right side. All the trim on the cab and bed are in good shape - since it is a truck, and after 30 years, some of the pieces may have a few scratches or dings - but I tried to get the absolute cleanest pieces I could find. The inside of the cab has been kept very original. The dash is very clean and straight - the dash pad is perfect and original. It has a unique option of delay wipers. The bed has no dents and as seen in the photos has hauled NOTHING. Very rare for a truck this old. The Trucks paint is basecoat clearcoat. Lemon Ice yellow in very good shape. The seat is in perfect shape - the cover and the foam is not worn out. Chassis The frame is in great shape. At restoration all the chassis - frame, axles, transmission and transfer case were cleaned and painted with Dupont DP90 expoy primer. Both font and rear axle were made by Dana. The front is a Dana 44 and rear Dana 60. Gearing is a 4:10 and it has the large lockouts. The steering is power assist and the manual steering box is tight. The only issue with the truck is the control valve for the power assist leaks slightly. The cylinder for the power assist does not leak. The power assist system is not the best power steering system - but it is the stock system that came with the truck. Included with the truck is a later model F250 power steering box that can be used to change it to the better system if you care to. I bought it years ago just so I could make the change if I wanted to - but felt it was best to leave it stock. The stock system is not bad when you get used to it. Wheels The wheels are a very nice set of Keith Black aluminum wheels. The tires are BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A Ko's - they are 35" tall. These are like new, balanced and give a very nice ride. The springs have not been altered from stock. The reserve is reasonable - this will make someone a very nice ride - good luck bidding and thanks for checking it out. I provided a thorough description; please don't ask any unnecessary questions. I am listing this vehicle for a friend! A $500.00 deposit is due within 24hrs. of auction end and full payment is due within 7 days. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup.
