Vehicle Detail

This car is a Porsche 911 built in 1965. According to research it's a 1966 model and is titled as such. It is a major project. First of all the obvious-someone cut the roof off many years ago. Please don't email me hate messages...I didn't do it-it was done many years ago in the Vanilla Ice era I'm sure. Along with the custom convertible job the rear fenders were flaired and the front fenders had the turn signals filled in with body filler. Late model bumpers were fabricated onto the original fenders-easily removed. Okay, let's look at the good stuff. It isn't THAT rusty. It was a California car until 5 years ago. Matching number passenger door and passenger front fender, possibly the driver front fender also Rear fenders are original, just modified. Some patches on the floor but nothing major. The rockers show some paint bubbling. The torque tube in the rear, suspension pickup locations, etc all look good. The rear shelf looks okay, one rear seat bottom has been patched. The battery tray looks pretty good, the front suspension pan has only a little rust. Front longhood fenders have simply had the turn signals covered with body filler. Also, they had later headlights installed. Original Porsche door glass. Yes, this car would require work all over but it is NOT one of those cars that is returning back to the earth! Mechanically-no engine or transmission or rear axles. The car has a tranmission when I bought it but it was not the original and has been removed. The brakes and suspension all look good. Gas heater. The interior has the original gauges, wood dash trim, 911script. Seats go with the car-not original of course. No rear seat. The Fuchs shown do NOT go with the car. I'll include some rollers including one date coded 65. I have a 1968 Porsche 912 that I will make available to the winning bidder for $3500. This will give the buyer all the body parts such as the roof, fenders, etc. plus lots of other extra parts left over. Or, the winning bidder can buy the 912 and restore or resell at his/her leisure. This car won't ever be a concourse winner but with a new roof (I'd go with a rollcage) and fenders welded on, it would make a great period race car-especially in Europe where 1965 and earlier cars are held at a premium. I have a clear open title good for your state or for export. I have a picture link with lots of pictures. Please email me for the link or if you have any questions.
