1990 Volvo 240 Sedan 4 cylinder/ 5 speed M46 Transmission Extensive restoration finished last month, car is ready to go. Here is a car you can drive for another 200k. All mechanical and drivability issues addressed. Highlights of restoration include: Recently rebuilt bottom end topped with a Modified Turbo Head fitted with a IPD VX Cam I had work done by automotive machine shop so it is right, shimmed and trimmed!. IPD Sport Exhaust, New cat. Converter, new O2 sensor. Gates Kevlar Cam belt, IPD Adjustable Cam gear. Transmission, clutch recently replaced with a low miles M46, Limited slip rear end,Brake system from rotors, calipers, stainless brake lines, Master Cylinder, flushed filled w/ dot 4 Fluid. All steering and suspension replaced ,from ball joints to u joints in steering shaft, Ipd anti-sways front & rear, GT style strut tower braces. Struts, shocks, radiator, hose, belts, IPD rear seal retainer. Nice virgo rims all around and full size spare. Everything that turns or burns replaced, even new hose clamps. Body is an 8, interior is 9. Driver’s seat rebuild, nice Alpine System. Smells like cigarettes even after stripping interior to metal, not too bad. Runs fantastic, handles like a Volvo should. first owner was local and took very good care of this Volvo. Some of the IPD parts like Anti-sways & Polly bushings (yes even the accsessories like alternator have polly bushings) were on car when I bought it this winter. I spent almost 4 months lovingly restoring and spending lots on parts, have all receipts. This car needs nothing, ac heat blower all work, no worries. not a hack job. Currently registered and insured. Why would I sell it? I built it to keep it . However I need to help my daughter with college expenses-and I already have an awesome 240 wagon and a van for work. Why buy a old volvo with multipule eath orbit miles on it? Better that a old volvo with low miles and not driven enough-crusty brakes and all of the 100k replacments comming up or over due.
