1977 Triumph Spitfire, soft top, 4 speed with overdrive. I bought this last May at a local car auction, so it has a recent clear Michigan title. Would be a great donor car, or with a little love it could give someone else some “cheap thrills”. Overall I would describe this car as rough, but still fun and cool! I drove this every weekend last summer/fall. yes I know its kinda crazy to drive this car in it’s condition. It NEEDS floor pans replaced, the driver side one is gone, that’s why there is an Interstate battery sign on the floor. I even drove it on warm days in the winter. It has the master brake, master clutch and slave clutch cylinders rebuilt. I bought this as a “cheap thrills” car. Then in march it started up but then died out if you let it sit on idle for 5 mins. Probably the coil is wearing out, it looks original, but then again I’m not a mechanic. I went to start it a couple days ago, but was hooking up the jumper cables and noticed that one plug wire was broken and one other nearly broken. So I order a new bosch wireset, after I installed it it started right up. Engine would benefit from an overall tune up/new parts. 2 tire hold air great, one will hold air for an afternoon and 1 will hold air for 15-30 mins. Car starts with a screwdriver. Tach, speedo, and cluster lights work. Electrical will probably need gone through (exterior lights come on if they feel like it). I do have the tunnel cover, radio holder, just never got arout to putting them back on. It is sitting in my driveway and I will also be moving in the near future so I’m trying to sell off some of my stuff so I don’t have to move all of it.
