This is a True-Original-Rust Free Barn Find No Smoke...No Mirrors...No Cover-up-No Kidding Please read carefully....I believe this to be one of the most original, solid 1950 deluxe cab 1/2 ton pickups anywhere.I have restored one before and found a few for friends....but Never have I had one this good. It had been in a enclosed barn since the water pump went out in 1969...with 51,000 miles! Never used hard...sheet metal is crazy straight, and the original bed wood is near perfect! More later. Beautiful Patina....Original Cape Maroon paint...other than lots of waxing and cleaning it's never been touched! 216.5 6cylinder. Original motor with Vin # on block. Strong and runs very well. burns no oil...see below. I very gentlyand correctly brought her back to life. Transmission: 3 speed on the column that shifts like brand new. The following items have been installed NEW in the last 30 days....My goal was to make it Dependable and Safe for my wife to drive. New radiatior, hoses, belts, coil, points and condenser. New fan belt, fuel pump, water pump, and the carburatorhas been completely rebuilt. The compression checked out very well. Timing was set, and new oil installed This original low mileage motor runs strong. New Master Cylinder, 4, new, correct wheel cylinders. Brake lines were purged and new shoes were installed where necessary. Front shoes were almost brand new. Brand New Diamond Back 16" radial white wall tires. New trim rings, Original reconditioned center caps. Brand new rear window and rear window seal. I have a new floor mat I will install or send with the truck. I wanted to take pictures of the floor to document how solid it is before it was covered up. Over $1200 dollars spent on parts and over $1000 spent on tires . I have receipts to support all stated above. Check out the pictures.....I have photographed what other people are afraid to show....no rust in the cab corners,floors, kick panels or bed. All original rubber is still there and supple...all gauges work, doors open and shut well,front end is tight...Everything I needed to do to make it safe and dependable has been done. On Jul-12-13 at 19:53:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had many calls and feel I need to address several questions that may interest all potential bidders. 1. This is a 1950 1/2 ton Deluxe Cab. Not a 19512. Yes, all the sheet metal is original to this truck. You can tell because all the underneath wear is similar throughout. All bolts, screws and clutch head screws are original. Even the rubber between the running boards and cab is still there and in great shape. 3. The spare mounted on the passenger side is not something that was done at the factory. It was obviously done by the original owner who was not only a very good welder...he also was a pretty good engineer. No damage to the rear fender or cab corner. 4. Lastly, I do believe the 51,391 is accurate. They do not photograph well but there are several oil change stickers up and down the door jams on the drivers side. The last one from 1969 shows the oil changed with 51,117 miles. The pedal wear, tight steering, and overall condition reflect light use and low mileage.
