1999 Mustang GT 35th Anniversary!! ONLY 1,700 Actual Miles!! New Condition!! On April 16th, 1964 at 9:30 pm on channels ABC, CBS, and NBC Ford Motor Corporation aired a commercial introducing the 1964 ½ Ford Mustang. It created such a frenzy at the dealerships the next day, everyone wanted to be the first to own the new Mustang. And for those that couldn’t afford to buy one or were too young to drive, they actually went to see it in person at the World’s Fair in New York. You couldn’t get any more American than the Mustang. It was a family sports car that had it all. Bucket seats, floor shifter and large enough to seat 4 but small enough to be a great looking sports car. Lee Iaccoca listened, watched and learned what America needed and challenged his designers and engineers to build a car that fit around the American lifestyle. The launch of the Mustang was so successful that it sold 22,000 units the very next day after the commercial aired. For the 7 or so months left in 1964 Ford had sold over 263,000 units and nearly doubled that in 1965 by selling more than 418,000 units. By 1966 over 607,000 Mustangs were produced and sold breaking the million mark after only18 months since its debut. It was certain that Mustang was here to stay and assured us that this car would never get side tracked from its original intent and from 1964 to 2012 Mustang stayed true to its heritage. This almost new, 1999 35th Anniversary Mustang Edition encompasses everything the Mustang stood for then and now. Every Mustang that year wore the 35th Anniversary badging but only 4628 where actual anniversary edition Mustangs. This Mustang is 1 of those 4628. Out of that number 1555 were the Performance Red as you see here. Also the anniversary editions had a black stripe coming out of a raised hood scoop, extended side scoops, winged rear spoiler and a black mesh insert on the trunk. Exterior: As you can see from the pictures, this car presents new, almost as you travel back in time and purchase one off the showroom floor. The rare Performance Red Paint has been well preserved with no signs of wear, the original lights, marker lights and signals are present new. All the glass is clear and free from any road rash. The rims have no scuffing, chips, etc. The tires are original yet in excellent condition. All factory markings are present not only under the hood, but underneath the car as well. There are absolutely no signs of any type of wear and everything works as it did the day it rolled off the assembly line. Drivetrain: The unmolested 4.6L v8 supplies 260 Horses while producing 302 foot lbs of torque. All original belts, hoses, brakes, tires etc are in excellent original condition. Look closely in the pictures provided for original stampings and factory writings still on the vehicle. The car runs great and performs as it did the day it was new all 1700 miles ago.
