NEVER in snow, and rarely in rain, Fluids changed regularly THIS BEAUTIFUL CAR COMES WITH ALL ORIGINAL FACTORY OWNERS MANUALS, FACTORY MAINTENANCE/SERVICE MANUAL, ORIGINAL FACTORY WINDOW STICKER AND 2 SETS OF KEYS! You have heard the story. Driven by a little old lady to shopping and church. Well, in this case, it is absolutely true. The little old lady is my wife (now 71). She really did use the car for church and shopping exclusively. If you should win this bid, you will meet her and see how true this is. She is an SHO enthusiast and brags on her car all the time. I bought this car for her in 1989 from Aldridge Ford (now Lexington Park Ford) in Lexington Park, Md. She has been the primary driver of the car. The car is completely original with even the original spare tire still in the trunk. The temporary tag issued when purchased was still in the trunk. The car runs and drives like the day she drove it off the lot. The air conditioner works and still has R-12 refrigerant in it. The radio does not work. However, I have a spare identical replacement radio and amplifier which has never been installed. Both were purchased off e-Bay. Also, the dash has a crack in it and there is one very small ding on the passenger door. The drivers seat bolster shows some wear. The interior sun roof shade has flaking. The tires have about 1000 miles on them. Some minor cracking in the leather portion of the front seats. That is it. Those are the only very minor issues with this car. Everything else works. The car runs and drives straight and true. It drives no differently than the day it was purchased. This car has always been garaged and it shows. No sun fading. Absolutely, not a speck of rust. Look at the pictures very closely, especially the door sills. Look like new. The drivers seat does have the powered lumbar and bolster support which works great. For someone that wants an all original first year SHO that has been well cared for, Not hot rodded, and never run hard, this one would be hard to match. The car is ready to drive anywhere. The SHO was MOTOR TREND'S CAR OF YEAR IN 1989. IF YOU WANT A REALLY NICE GARAGE KEPT, UNMODIFIED, FIRST YEAR, ONE OWNER, SHO, THIS IS THE ONE!! NO RESERVE. Someone will get this car!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST!!! Terms of sale...I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, or deliver to a shipping company. Thank you for considering my auction, and Good luck bidding! On Jun-14-13 at 04:21:51 PDT, seller added the following information: This car does not have an airbag as stated in the description. On Jun-17-13 at 04:39:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Some have asked about the split in the dash, and the door ding. One of the photos of the interior that has the keys in the ignition with the neon green opener shows the split. It can just be seen on top of the dash on the drivers side. The car has hardly ever sat in the sun, so is a bit of a mystery why it split. The ding has a bit of touch up paint on it and is almost imperceptible. Someone stopped in to look at the car and had difficulty finding the ding. I have tried to post additional pictures but have been unsuccessful. I do have these photos and can send via e-mail if someone wants to see them. My wife reminded me that the car back about 1993 cut out (stopped running and a minute later started up). It did it several times. The local Ford dealer determined that either the crankshaft sensor or the cam sensor was the culprit so both items were replaced and the car never cut out again. We also found a receipt for repair of a power steering fluid leak in 2001. The dealer replaced the P/S high pressure line pump rack and it has never leaked again. On Jun-18-13 at 17:02:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I was giving the car a once over today and noticed that the passengers seat also has the powered lumbar and bolster. Never noticed that before. Tested it and it works fine. Realized that this may be the first time we ever energized it. The wife and I think the battery may be quite old. Car turns over strongly. Battery always has a battery maintainer on it. May have contributed to its long life cause we think we have replaced the battery two times . The last time may very well have been in 2002. Will leave the maintainer off for several days, and if it does not hold a charge, will put in a new battery. On Jun-20-13 at 16:12:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I decided to install the eBay radio/amplifier I had purchased quite some time ago. Unfortunately, the sound system still does not work. I surmise that quite possibly the radio I purchased off eBay is inoperative. Maybe that is why it was on eBay. No way for me to really tell. I left the eBay radio and amplifier in the car and will provide the original radio and amplifier to the new owner. A real bummer! I was hoping to have the sound system working but it was not to be.On Jun-21-13 at 16:31:18 PDT, seller added the following information: The battery voltage reads 12.87 volts after a couple of days off the maintainer. 12.7 is fully charged so it seems as if the battery is o.k. By the way, the car has not been professionally detailed. What you see in the pictures is the way we have always kept the car looking. When I took the pictures, I took a dust cover off, drove it out, and snapped the pictures. I am sure it could look even better if someone did a professional detail on itOn Jun-22-13 at 05:41:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Have been going over the car to verify correct operation. Discovered that with the temp in max heat and control in mix, no air exits the dash vents. Works and heats fine in all other control positions and works fine for A/C. We think that when the car was in for A/C work in 2003, something was left incorrectly. Maybe a vacuum hose. We have not used the car in cold weather since than thus; did not discover this until now. Sorry about this, but we are trying to be up front and pass on everything we know about our car so there are no surprises. On Jun-23-13 at 02:34:11 PDT, seller added the following information: I took a look at the spare tire. (One of those small ones) it has no air in it and is secured with the valve stem down. Not wanting to disturb the originality, I left it alone. Also, noticed the plastic wing nut wrench located on top of the nut securing the tire is cracked. Someone at the factory must have over torqued it, cracking the wing nut. We have never had occasion to remove the tire. Folks, I know these things are minor, but the things wrong with this car are MINOR. There are no major issues in this SHO.
