Vehicle Detail
1935 Ford Deluxe 5 Window Coupe 94,090 Miles Less than 200 Miles on the Rebuilt Engine Owned by the same family for over 30 years This one is a great find... Enjoy it "as is" and maybe you'll never do a restoration. If you decide to make improvements in appearance, maybe you'll take a buffing wheel to the paint, replace dried up rubber trim, polish up the chrome and bright work, detail the engine compartment, maybe replace the lower trim on the base of the seat (note that the seating area, top and bottom, both look good though... the door panels are slightly tattered along the bottom), the rubber covers on the running boards are serviceable, but look original, maybe you would prefer the added turn signals removed... How far do want to go? Other than the rebuild on the engine (which runs superb and surprisingly quiet... And we are told that the transmission was also rebuilt at the time), this '35 hasn't been cosmetically touched in probably over 40 years. It comes with a 1st Place Trophy from when it was a quality "Show Car" in 1971... If you've done the math, 42 years ago! This five window Deluxe coupe has a trunk, not a rumble seat, however, it does have the roll down rear window. It has the dual tail lights, horns and period correct fog lights. Check out how nice that original "Banjo" style steering wheel is! Some may call this a "Barn Find" (well, it did come from a "barn" on a farm that has been in the family for over 100 years), and some would say it's a very solid, straight "original" older restoration. The father who inherited this 73 year old '35 is 70 years old himself. He shared a story of a buyer who wanted the car while his father was alive, apparently he came with cash in hand and drove several hours. The mistake he made was telling of his plans to make make it into a street rod, hot rod... Well, we know the outcome of that story. Affordable, original cars of this era are hard to find as we agree, and the guys that love originals cringe at the thought of altering this one, however, you'll appreciate this one regardless of the school you're from!
