Vehicle Detail
1973 FORD F-100 XLT SHORT BED 360 V-8 automatic air conditioned power steering power brakes new OEM tinted glass new exhaust new windshield 49,000 miles NO RUST 95% tire tread Just recently purchased this truck from an elderly gentleman liquidating his car collection due to some health issues. In the short time to complete the transaction/transportation, another vehicle I was looking at has come available. As room is an issue, this has got to go. This beautiful truck originally came from the southwest, so there is no rust, only a little surface rust on the bed floor and underneath. All body panels are original otherwise. Look at the close-up pictures of the body—it’s beautiful, and remember, black shows everything! There has been one re-paint of the original black approximately 8 years ago. It looks great but there are some minor scratches, nothing significant. See the pictures of the door sill and the bottom of the doors: zero rust. The carpet is original and shows almost no wear, just faded from the sun. The dash is very nice, as is the rest of the interior (only the seat cover has been replaced with an OEM XLT deluxe cover). The XLT steering wheel has a number of cracks in it as can be expected, but I'm seeing on eBay some pretty nice ones between $75-100 for the exact same wheel. It came with another steering wheel that the seller had purchased, but did not ever install and it is in extremely nice condition. But, it is not a steering wheel for an XLT. I believe he said he paid $65 plus shipping for that wheel. Even the brake and gas pedals are barely worn. Under the hood is all original (except the rebuilt carburetor). It has not been repainted or detailed — the factory labels are still on the valve covers and the jack has not been used. It runs and drives like new; it cruises on the highway as quietly as a luxury car. According to the previous owner, I am the 3rd owner, and the mileage is original. Due to its appearance and the way it runs, and all the other indicators, I strongly feel this is accurate. I am sure you will agree when you see it and drive it. In my opinion, if I was going to keep the vehicle, I would detail out the bed and I have priced out doing so. There are three options: 1) Spray it gloss black as the rest of the truck; put a bed liner in it; or a spray-in bed liner. All of these options run about $400. This would just finish out the truck depending on if it was a candidate for a show/cruiser or actually going to use the bed for light hauling, etc. This was the description of the vehicle when I purchased it a few weeks ago and it was an honest description with no disappointments from seller. If you want to talk about the vehicle, feel free to send me an email and phone number.
