Well, as much as it pains me to do, sometimes you can't put it off no more. I drove this very same bike, model and color on a test ride back @ Santa Barbara Honda in mid 1991. I couldn't afford it , but said one day. Well 5 kids later, almost all grown, last year while looking at classified ads in Vegas, just passing some time and I spied an ad for a "1991 Honda SSM ST1100" with approx 16,000 orig , one owner miles. I blinked twice and said what the heck. I called a friend of mine I knew through the studio biz , who had a lot of bikes and lived in Vegas. He agreed to go check out the bike. drove it , spoke with the owner (the son in law) arranged for my friend to meet him at a Motorcycle shop he knows and had it checked.. I was impressed , purchased the bike, had my buddy have all the fluid done and the following week my wife and I rented a motorcycle trailer and headed to Vegas to pick up my bike.. I was floored at the condition of my dream from the past. Headed north for home, via Henderson and the back way around to Cowtown. about an hour out, unloaded the bike and rode all the way to Reno..long ride, but what a ride..death valley, area 51 , Carson city and more then a few times along the way, I'd just cranked in open and pull over a few miles a head for my wife to catch up.. Yup worth the wait, even today you understand why this bike changed the definition of "Sport Touring Bike" Designed in Germany and built in Japan by Honda..also known in some circles as a "HMW" tee's Beemer owners off, but lets be honest..your people designed it and the Honda crew built so.. more reliable , lower cost, and built like a bullet..These bikes are known to hit well over 200,000 miles with no issues.all while being able to roll at 100 plus as smooth as a hot knife cutting butter This as a first year color. the SSM means Sparkling Silver Metallic and is considered rare color and a re 1st year night, collector's ? you bet. It has a extra high windshield, Bar risers, and a Givi top-box and brighter 12v high low headlight, orig owners manual, tool kit and service manual.. other then that.. all stock, tires are a little over a year old with less then 1,000 miles. for a 22 year old bike, its brilliant as for its condition its not off the showroom floor perfect , but it is very nice and well care for (cover included)Licensed, registered (current) and insured. So why am I selling her.. I don't want to, but I'm getting old they tell me , my wrists get tired easy..and I have a hip pointer that is getting the best of me and sometime I'm afraid of dumping my bike (too many years of "Watch This" or "By the time you grab a fork lift, we could have this moved" or just my "Not smart, but can lift heavy things" mind set caught up with me) that and my wife is starting to worry about my safety (nag nag nag) but (ok, she's right) I work to many hours and ride it abit once home, back roads and such..and its just so much peace, rode only a couple of times during winter (too bloody cold for me) and now that its warmer , down to Crispy creams every Sunday and then about an hour ride..but it hurts ..so my silver steed is up for grabs.. "bullseye" has 18,664 on him now. Asked about shippers? I've sold many custom and collectors cars on eBay..both cross country and across the sea's. Cars go from 700 to 1300 inclosed trailer..open much less. The only Motorcycle I sold went to the bronks area N.Y. The buyer paid I think 350.00 as the trucker just stowed it up front between cars and made some extra pocket/fuel money along his run. Bike arrived fine, on time and he said was a good deal. I think he found the hauler Via U-Ship.com I've used them to had a vintage van shipped from back east to me, faster and about a 1/3 less with out any problems. If your sending a shipped, bike is safe and will remain locked up and covered in my garage for a couple of weeks if needed, I'll work with ya. Top box is a locking BEST brand, and holds my full face helmet with room for more and it is not a Givi brand (sorry for error) The above is just to be clear and honest. Thanks
