Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a very nice 1954 Chevrolet ½ ton Deluxe Pickup Truck. This truck is running a healthy 350 4-bolt main engine with about 4000 miles on it since a rebuild by a racing engine machinist with 30 years of experience. The engine was line bored with a torque plate 0.30 over, making it a 355 cubic inch and balanced. It has double-hump heads casting number: 3917291, with new stainless steel valves. It has a COMP hydraulic roller cam and kit. The engine is coupled to a rebuilt 700rR4 transmission with a C40 GM torque converter. TV cable has been adjusted professionally for correct lockup and shifting up and down. New U joints and balanced drive line. The shifter is a Lokar polished aluminum shifter with working neutral safety switch The exhaust is 2 ½-inch pipe with rams horn exhaust manifolds extending beyond the back bumper with crossover H-pipe and turbo mufflers. The brake system is drum with all moving parts replaced with premium linings, NOS master cylinder, new fluid, new flexible and steel lines and emergency brake cables. Emergency brake works. The wheels are American Racing Torque-Thrust Ds 15 x 7-inch on the front and 15 x 8.5-inch on the rear with Schwab Premium Sport radials staggered sizes. The tires on the front are new. New custom harness throughout, installed by Master Auto electrician and community college automotive instructor using an American Auto Wire hand-built loom. The truck has courtesy cab lights, turn indicator lamps in the dashboard, electric two-speed wipers, individual junction wire separations under the hood, modern relays, switches, and emergency flashers. The tail lamps are LED units set in stainless steel original housings. Parking lights have been changed to amber lenses for greater visibility. The gas tank is a new replacement model with reproduction tank straps and hardware. The tank sender is new as is the fuel gauge with a new generic electric fuel pump mounted on the frame with two disposable filters at the tank. Steel IDID-IT steering column with tilt and flashers painted body color. The steering wheel is a 15-inch 1956 Bel Air with De Luxe chrome horn ring and hub crest. The interior hardware, visors, armrests, and fasteners have all been replaced. The seat is a factory option Unison model, which was a heavy-duty cab over truck comfort design, with air control under the seat. Gauges are Stewart-Warner 2 1/8-inch traditional logo models mounted in a custom, brushed aluminum panel. The tachometer is a late 1960s SUN “Football” model due to the red seal on the face of the unit that has been converted to solid state internals. The factory option clock over the instrument cluster is a manual, wind-up unit. The heater and cigar lighter work well. Heater blower is a 3 speed with factory switch below the dash. The upholstery was installed during the original build and a new headliner was installed recently. The driver’s side seat was redone with new foaming for support as well as new carpeting and kick pads. Three seat belts are installed with Grade 8 hardware. The cab and the frame is rust free as is the bed and rear fenders. The floor and roof of the cab have several layers of sound and heat insulation. The running boards are in nice shape and powder coated with all new fasteners. The windshield and side glass are new with factory tint as original. All window channels, fasteners, rubbers fuzzies and door handles are new .Cab weather strips, fender welting, door and floor weather stripping, dome light, and rubber strips between the cab and running boards are new The bed boards are Red Oak. They have 11 coats of spar varnish on both sides, with hand sanding between coats. All of the fasteners and wood trim strips are polished stainless steel. The bed chains and covers were replaced along with the rear bumper and all of the bolts. The license plate light and bracket are new as well. The spare tire mount is a factory option and is covered with an accessory body color continental kit plate and stainless steel tire cover with a padlock hasp under the bottom. The rim fits the bolt pattern on the wheels and has a good spare mounted. This truck was ordered as a De Luxe model that included a number of options: § All glass tinted § Radio block off plate in lower dashboard § Outside rear view mirror on driver’s door § Clock-over gauge cluster in the dashboard wind-up works § Heater and defroster recirculating or Air Flow § Lamp on the right side tail § Cigarette lighter § Bird hood ornament § Rest arm molded sponge rubber on driver’s and passenger door § Traffic signal light viewer § Directional signals § Stainless vent shades § Outside visor § Windshield washer nozzles on cowling, entire NOS factory system included but not installed § Right side sun visor § Matching high note horn unit § Ride control seat (Unison) air ride control from COE truck series § Cab corner windows § Stainless window trim in rubber moldings § Chrome grille § Chrome rear bumper We have the receipts and plenty of documentation for all the work performed by professionals on this truck. The outside paint was restored ten years ago, and it still looks very good with a nice shine. The interior paint work was done by an amateur and doesn’t match the craftsmanship of the exterior. This truck is an excellent driver, and you could fly in and drive it home without a problem. If you have any questions, call Frank at 208-921-1223 (MT USA) Thanks for looking!
