Painstakingly and lovingly restored on the frame to its original splendor, this Chevrolet classic was promoted as “The Hot One” in all of GM’s 1955 advertising campaigns and America went absolutely wild over the new ’55 Bel Air Sport Coupe with its “motoramic: styling, improved handling and a unique “blue flame” six cylinder engine considered the most powerful of its kind. This baby literally looks like it has been driven off the original show room floor! With ONLY 17,000 MILES ON IT AND ONLY TWO OWNERS, this little sweetheart was a gift to but rarely driven by the sister of an MGM film historian, stored for several decades in Northern California, then stored for another decade in Simi Valley by its present owner who must reluctantly part with it due to illness. Chevy’s Bel Air styling was crisp, clean, and incorporated a Ferrari-inspired grille, chrome headliner bands, chrome spears on the front fenders, stainless steel window moldings, full wheel covers and distinguished by the super cool Bel Air name script. The breath-taking seafoam green with eggshell white exterior is only matched by its original two tone seafoam green interior and ORIGINAL UPHOLSTERY (only the internal padding has been replaced). The carpeting has been replaced with a flawless matching reproduction of the original. The windows and rubber seals are also ORIGINAL as are the hubcaps (with special safeguards installed to keep them from falling off) and five (including the spare) excellent radial tires. Likewise, the DASHBOARD IS ORIGINAL and includes a very cool dashboard traffic light reflector in addition to an equally cool chrome Kleenex holder under the dashboard. The upholstery is original and so the seats are in fact made of vinyl and cloth--not leather. 2, The actual current mileage on this vehicle is 17,849 and, yes, this is the original mileage.
