You are looking at a very unique 1957 VW Panel Logo Bus formerly used as a Southern Idaho Milk Truck. This VW has gone through a complete transformation, as far as the running gear is concerned. This van has a brand new 2180cc long-block from West Coast Core with dual external oil coolers. The primary cooler has a thermo control fan, the secondary is mounted inside for heat with an oil bypass valve. The engine is protected by an oil temperature bypass valve after going through the filter. The dual 44 HPMX carburetors are brand new as is the Bosch starter. The alternator is the one wire version. The exhaust is a vintage speed equal length stainless steel system. In the rear it has the IRS conversion using Creative Engineering Transmission Arms. ‘68 bus style arms with spring plates, hubs and brakes. The ’67 rear arms were turned to fit the ’68. The gas tank is also ’68 bus style. The transmission is a newly rebuilt 1971 Beetle Freeway Flyer, the nose cone adapter was used to fit the original rubber mount. This Butter Bus has all new brakes, including master cylinder, wheel cylinders and drums. The front end was removed and cleaned and new link and king pins, tie rods and drag links. New brake lines and throttle cable conversion. Plus all new gas shocks. The upholstery is all new. In the front we have the dove blue padded door panels, kick panels and a nice new dove blue headliner with a new custom made rug on the floor. The Bus has new windshields, new rubber, gaskets, and latches throughout. The side windows are original VW Serkets. The paint on the dash is also original dove blue. The interior in the back has also all been professionally redone. The rear seat is out of a Westfalia camper, and covered with new Route 66 material. The far back has a new dove blue rug, and the side panels are in a southwest rug. The rear headliner and all the side walls are covered in bamboo, very nice and shiny. The floor is also bamboo. The custom bar is made from cherry wood and is very exquisite. A 10 gallon water tank and 12 volt pressure system supplies the water to the stainless steel sink and faucet. This Bus has been completely rewired. Everything works excellent on 12 volts with the additional auxiliary battery for the lights and water system. LED lights running across the upper sides and cargo area finish off the interior, it looks awesome day and night! The metal floor boards have had all the rust removed or repaired. All 4 outriggers have been replaced, front and rear cross members and top hats. Left, right, inner and outer rocker panels and cargo floor have also all been replaced. A lot of work was performed on the floor boards, and they should last you a long time. That being said, there is one small rust spot on the front left outside corner (as shown in the picture). The rims are 15 inch Lemmerte Crow Feet. The tires are brand new Yokohama 205/70/15. Newly painted wheels and stock hubcaps As you can see, the body on this Logo Bus is pretty much original and still showing the original Challenge Butter and ice cream logos from the Mini Cassia Dairy. There are some dents and surface blemishes throughout, but we felt they only enhanced the patina and antique style. The Bice front bumper is nice and fairly rare. This old Challenge Butter Logo Bus has had a lot of money and time put into it. It runs really good, and has a LOT of power. The only things that might need attention is the steering box (it is new, but doesn’t feel quite right) and it leaks a little bit of oil (not much) but as is customary of all old VWs. This Bus is Very Fresh, no more than 100 miles have been put on it since it was put together. This is a very special and unique vehicle, and it looks even better in person, so have fun bidding!
