My friend, Steve, passed away doing what he loved to do; racing vintage Japanese motorcycles. He passed while racing at Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio in July 2011. I am attempting to assist his Wife with the eighteen motorcycles that he left behind. Steve was a former Suzuki / KTM dealer, and was a meticulous motorcycle mechanic. He fixed everything on each of his bikes, no matter how insignificant. At the time of his death, he had one of the eighteen bikes that would not run and ride. He had gathered up the parts and pieces needed, but time ran out. He rode all of his bikes, and took care of each of them. Please view the other auctions. I will list one every few days, as I take pictures and get them listed. I have not even washed this bike; it is just as I rolled it out of the shop, after almost two years! I have not applied WD40, Armorall, or attempted to make it look any different than it is. I own several VJMCs, and I don't like "puchasing surprises". I don't expect you to like them either. I have taken several pictures, and tried to show all. If you need additional pictures, I will be happy to take them and email them to you. This bike has an aftermarket "SAMMY MILLER" gas tank, aftermarket fenders, and aftermarket handlebar brace. The fenders are nice with one stress crack--not broken--on front fender, and is even hard to see. Aluminum rims are nice with like new chain and sprockets. Front and rear brakes work well. Frame and swingarm are nice with no visible damage. Seat is nice with no holes or tears. Throttle, carb slide, choke, and petcock all work and move. Looks to be original exhaust from head to silencer. Good compression. Has not run in two years; expect the carb and fuel tank attention, as usual. Very little gas in tank, and no strong "bad gas smell". Maybe seafoam works! Steve and I used to ride together; not competively, but just tooled around, (at slow speeds), in the woods. My RL250 was like new, polished and shiney, clean and waxed, and this bike would pull mine through all gears. And Steve had about 70 pounds on me! Tons of low end torque. This bike never touched the ground with Steve on it! No trees, and never abused! Front upper forks have very little surface rust, which can be easily removed, and the lower fork legs are slick and shiney. Fork seals do not leak, and all cables are nice and function well. Tires are like new. A notorized Bill of Sale from Wife, along with the previous Bill of Sale from previous owner will be provided. There is NO title for this bike; Bill of Sale only! Buyer responsible for transportation from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39402. I will work and assist shipper if needed on this end. Realistic reserve; less than he paid for the bike years ago. Must be paid in full. Can store inside until pick up!
