***1974 Dat-Zu or Isu-SUN PICKUP*** This is a 1974 Datsun pickup that has been converted from its paltry gasoline drivetrain to the Infamous Isuzu 2.2L diesel engine and drivetrain. This is a diesel truck with four speed manual transmission probably out of an Isuzu pup...This truck gets 40-45 mpg regularly and all parts are easily available. The truck has oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage gauges but no speedometer. Has heat but no A/C and a CD player as well. This truck is fully functional but will need some brake work and a little front suspension work to be ready for extended duty. Engine is nice and one of the stronger 2.2s I have experience with. It cranks up and runs very smoothly and the trans is very smooth shifting and both run out great! This truck gets the job done and is a strong platform...the body isnt perfect by any means but the structure is very solid. Function over form suited me. This drivetrain is unbeatable and very adaptable to any vehicle and for this reason it is one of the most formidable drivetrains ever produced in my opinion. Good truck for hunting or fishing, farm or everyday transportation... take advantage of that fuel mileage or even bio-fuel to stretch it even further. Never had bio in it tho.
