Here is your opportunity to own a true Japanese classic. This 1977 280Z is a real stunner. It has been well cared for by me for the past six years. I have enjoyed the car but my garage is full and it is time for my Z to go to a new home. The car appears to be accident free and was painted the original color just before I purchased the car. The body is rust free and has only a few parking lot blemishes. There is one small rust blemish on the rear hatch door near the bottom seal. Since this car has lived in the SF bay area its whole life, even the original exhaust pipe is in good order. The muffler and cat were replaced by a previous owner. The interior is in good used condition with minor carpet fading and console cracks. I covered the weathered dashboard with a full face cap and it looks great. The original steering wheel padding is marginal so it too is covered. The analog clock does not work. There is an aftermarket stereo with a CD player with an auxiliary IPod input. The odometer reads 72500 miles but it is unknown to me how many times it has gone around, if ever, so the true mileage is unknown to me. The engine starts right up and has plenty of power. There are a few minor fluid weeps. This includes the rear engine oil seal, but it does not leave a stain on the driveway. This must be expected for a 30 year old car with original components. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch has plenty of life remaining. During my ownership I have replaced the intake / exhaust manifold gaskets, fuel injectors, under hood rubber fuel lines, water and vacuum hoses, air intake boot, alternator, battery, steering rack. The front brakes were refurbished and the front wheel bearings were replaced. All four struts and springs were replaced with Tokiko ultras to improve the handling and overall stance. Most of the suspension rubber bushings were replaced with polyurethane during the strut rebuild. I will include the original springs in the sale if you want to return the suspension to the stock feel and ride height. The front end torsion rods were replaced with Techno-toy Tuner’s adjustable units that are vastly superior to stock. Search for them on eBay for more info on those. The newer 14 inch Yokohama tires have less than 10000 miles on them and the old school Ultra alloys look great and are the proper offset. The AC system components are all there, the compressor is not seized, but the system has not functioned since I’ve owned the car. All the original emission control equipment is installed and functioning properly. The car passed the California emissions test last year. The car is offered as-is and where is. Full payment is expected prior to vehicle delivery, or loading on your carrier’s trailer. It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange and pay for any transportation, taxes, or any other transfer costs required to transfer title. The sale includes a current California smog certificate valid for 90 days after the date issue.
