1978 Honda GL1000. GoldWing. Gold Wing. Survivor. Unrestored. Here is a spectacular 1978 Honda GL1000 in the original Candy Blue paint. It is in excellent, unmolested condition. The pictures really tell the story of a low mileage, unrestored, naked Gold Wing. Build Date of 3/78. If you have been looking for one of these, this one is really remarkably clean and pristine for its age. Bike was always professionally stored and cared for. I am 2nd owner. Some good history – copy of original Washington state title, service records. Clear Texas title. Everything factory stock is there – the seat; the rear grab bar; the handlebars, the chrome tip handlebar grips, one year only gauges; the non-literature HM431 exhaust; the original fuel filter clamp for factory Honda fuel filters. Starts instantly, idles and runs out perfect like fresh from the assembly line. No oil leaks. No coolant leaks. No smoke. No misses. No rattles. Quiet. Tight. Mechanically is fantastic. New in the past 1-2 years: - New timing belts, OEM Honda timing belt rollers, tensioners and springs. - Newly rebuilt carbs from Pistol Pete (Randacks kits.) - New Bridgestone tires and tubes front and rear. - New Yuasa maintenance free battery. - New OEM Honda Fuel Pump - New OEM Honda water pump, thermostat, upper, lower rad hoses The seat is 100% original and mint. Chrome is fantastic. Aluminum cases, forks, covers are mint in my opinion. No dents or creases in fenders. Everything works – horns, lights, signals. Has all of the original 78 lighting – quartz headlight, all signal and taillight lens etc. Exhaust is excellent – no holes, no repairs. Rims only show very minor signs of tire mounting. Toolkit all there and in excellent condition with the original blue fold out bag. Owners manual – in excellent condition, no markings in original plastic pouch The tank shelters are not cracked. Paint is non-faded. The original Honda hinges and cable stays are there – rare on old Wings!! There is a scratch on the LH sidecover and a scratch on the RH shelter. I left them untouched.
