I am offering up for sale my 1979 Trans Am 10th Anniversary Limited Edition project car with the restoration well underway. This is a non-numbers matching engine and transmission car. However, the engine is from another 79 TA and is the correct 403 Olds for this car, as well as the transmission. The engine has been professionally gone through and sounds great. The automatic transmission has also been completely rebuilt. I have around $3000 alone in the engine and the transmission. The engine also has a new, correct carb. The car will need exhaust from the catalytic converter back (converter is new). This car came with four-wheel disc brakes, and I have installed new rotors, calipers, and brake hoses. Tires will need to be replaced. This car contained very little rust. The passenger’s side rocker panel has been replaced and there were two small rust spots (about 2”x 2” each) in the front passenger floor board and one small rust area (about 6” square) in the rear passenger's floor board. Both areas have been repaired. The remainder of the body is very straight and solid as can be seen in the photos. All jambs have been painted the correct Silver color, and the remainder of the body is in primer and will need minor body work and additional primer before applying the top coat. New door hinges have been installed as well as new door and trunk weatherstrip. I believe I have enough paint of both colors to finish the car and will be included. As you can see the car is mostly disassembled and ready for paint. I would say that this car is about 98% complete. The only things that I can see missing are one of the correct Turbo wheels and the two rear wheel spoilers. I cannot guarentee other items won't be missing but the winner will get everything that I have that goes with the car. The windshield will need to be replaced but all other glass is in good condition, including both t-tops. The dash pad is in good shape but does have one spilt (see pics). I do think this could be repaired. I bought a couple of used door panels that are in very good condition. The remainder of the interior will need to be replaced. I also have a new decal and stripe kit that is correct for this car. I have described this car as accurately as I can. If you win the auction, I want you to be aware of what you are getting, so please ask any questions you have. I will gladly assist in loading this car, but it will be your responsibility to make transportation arrangements as this car must be trailered. I will need a $500 deposit within 48 hours of the end of the auction. I will accept cash or certified bank money order.
