Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1960 Porsche 356 B Coupe "Driver", which runs and drives just great, 1965 SC engine is very strong, clutch and transmission are very smooth, transmission built by Vic Skirmants, engine built locally by a "Porsche engine man", this car just runs and drives like a scalded rabbit! Mechanically very strong, all lights work, turn signals, headlights, brake lights, parking lights, horn, gauge lights, brakes stops on a dime, emergency brake holds on a hill! The car retains its original 6 volt system and the charging system work perfectly. The engine starts even on cold mornings with 2 presses of the accelerator pedal, a turn of the key and it then roars to life!! The engine is number 813798. It is a 1965 SC engine. Mechanically this car has been very well maintained over the years by the owner/mechanic. He used this car as his daily driver for many years driving from Raleigh to Research Triangle Park (about 20 miles one way) until his retirement. After he retired he continued to maintain the car and I had seen it in Raleigh being driven on occasion. I purchased the car because I wanted a 356 I could jump in and drive. I am using the car as my daily driver as well. It is hard to find one where everything works and that you can drive care free. Even the heater tubes work and as you go down the road you can feel warm air entering the cabin via the side heater vents in the car. The car was originally silver and needs to be repainted. The body and floors are very solid. I have posted over 80 pictures as a link. You will find pictures of the longitudinals and the floors. All are very solid. There was a minor repair on the passenger side longitudinal some years back. It is solid but you can see the repair. The battery box has also been repaired with metal welded in. While not beautiful it is solid. All glass is in very good condition with no cracks. Door windows go up and down with ease, vent windows work perfectly and rear quarter windows open and close and latch just like they came from the factory. The car retains its original red interior with red german weave carpet and red door panels which is in very good condition. Driver side seat is original and shows some wear, but is original. The dash is very nice with no cuts nor extra holes. The original radio works and the speaker for the radio is in the back seat. The hood pull works perfectly and the engine lid pull works perfectly as well. Tires are all radials and the car "tracks" well going down the road--good and straight. When the brakes are applied the car does not pull to any one side. Here is a link to over 80 photos of the car: https://plus.google.com/photos/102989007469098779939/albums/5861244794709251697?authkey=CIrPpYPX3ei-Rg Here are two videos of the car being driven: http://youtu.be/EVjJ5118BLs and http://youtu.be/yoMscf5zPrc This car is the reason to own a Porsche 356. It is just so much fun to drive and everyone looks at you as you go down the road. The previous owner in fact told me that I drive the car too "softly", that I really need to put my foot into it. We went for a test drive with him driving it and he drives it to squeeze every ounce of power and speed out of the engine. I asked him about this and he said, "...drive this car hard, it can stand it". He built the engine and it has a transmission rebuilt by Vic Skirmants with approximately 3000-4000 miles on it. So I now follow his advice and just have a ball everytime I take it out. Rarely do you find one like this. This is what these cars were meant to do. I understand and respect a beautifully restored 356 but I am too afraid to drive it, worrying the whole time that I might get a stone chip in the paint or a door ding if I park it at the supermarket. With this car I just drive it and have fun. We are a licensed and bonded and insured Auto Dealer in North Carolina. We have an "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau. Our dealership is T.J.
