Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale is an extra nice 1970 CB750 KO. She fires right up at the push of the starter and oh does she sound good! Here's the deal. I went to look at a Suzuki Intruder from a mature gentleman who decided that the end of his riding days were at hand. And sitting over in the corner was this old girl. Two inches of dust dry rotted tires and lots of surface rust. He said he had owned since the mid seventies, set it over there and just never got her back out. The brakes were locked up. I pushed on the kick starter and the motor turned with compression. Then he explained that he had drained the gas years ago and did I want to hear her run? Sure-he hooked up a booster-the battery was gone. Poured in some gas and I'll be darned if she didn't spit and cough and run on choke for about 10 seconds. Now I was getting interested. He couldn't find the title-I will have a clear Texas bonded title in about three weeks. I haggled and haggled but finally bought her and noe the long process had begun. First, I would like to thank all my friends who were instrumental in brings this beauty back to life. The carbs have been rebuilt and synced. New kits in all. New tires. New paint-professionally done. The inside of the tank is clean with just a couple of surface rust specks visible. New seat. Rebuilt brake calipers. New master cylinder. NOS turn signals. And now the best part-the pipes were okay but rusted-I have had a set OF NOS HM300 pipes and baffles sitting in their Honda box for close to 5 years. Just waiting for a CB750 worthy of them. And I decided this was the one- the new pipes were hung. The gauges are the original gauges and I was told that the 5,300 miles were original and I have no reason to doubt judging by the rotor and the way she runs but no way to prove. When you fire this 750 up it sounds so fine. I certainly understand why Triumph, BSA, and Norton went under fast with the advent of this magnificent motorcycle. All electrics work as designed other than the horn which has a mind of it's own and works when she wants. There is a small crack in one of the fins-it's in the pictures-chalk it up to the obligatory patina. And I should have changed the steering head bolts but for some reason I didn't. We just fired her up and drove down the street to take pictures. She just couldn't run any better. The engine is tight and solid. No timing chain rattle. Smooth as silk-she starts up on the first kick also. The engine # is CB750E 1040049. The vin # is CB750 1040068. I'm a small independent Texas dealer so if you live in Texas I'm obliged to collect the taxes and registration. Described to the best of my ability-she'a a 41 year old bike and anything can break or quit working anytime. It is impossible to detail every last thing about a motorcycle so inspections are suggested. Sold as is where is. Try uship.com for transport. I will sell to foreign buyers but shipping is up to you-we'll help all we can. Good luck and thanks for your interest and bids! My phone # is 214-943-8205. Please call during business hours. It is slightly larger than the original. To the best of my knowledge, this is the bracket that was on the bike when I got her. Don't know how it would have been switched. A K0 model may be found here on Ebay for about $200. The chain guard was missing when I got her. Couldn't find a short one so we took a 71 model and fabricated it to fit on the bike. These are the only parts that I know of that are not K0 parts. The front fender was trash so we bought an NOS K0 front fender from the Honda dealership in Layfayette, La. so it is an original. Will try to upload a few more closeup pictures. Thanks for all the interest.
