If you are looking for a mechanically sound driver this is the car for you. The car has been driven less that 300 miles per year over the past 5 years. First let's review the negatives-The car looks good from 10 feet away. It could really use a repaint as there are chips and scratches in the paint. The doors and hood could also stand to be adjusted as part of the respray. It would also benefit from a set of rechromed bumpers Now for all the good stuff-The car, at one point, has had the body removed from the frame, new floor pan were installed and the frame has been coated with POR 15. Within the past 5 years the car has had the following upgrades-new fuel system including tank, lines and fuel pump. A new stainless steel exhaust. New brakes with a new master cylinder and stainless steel lines. New parking brake cable. New rear springs and trailing arms. The distributor has been rebuilt and converted to electronic ignition. The clutch has been replaced. All the gauges and instruments function properly. The SU carbs have been rebuilt as has the rear diff. It also has new tires and halogen headlamps. The top has been replaced along with the seats and door panels. There is a CD player installed in the dash. The car also has had a recent service which includes a tune up, lube, oil and filter. I have all the service records going back to 1984 along with a number of technical repair manuals and the original owner's manual. As it sits today this car is a dependable driver. She just needs a little cosmetic TLC. I plan to post additional pixs of the engine bay and front end tomorrow. I added shots of the undercarriage and front end. The paint is chipped and peeling on the valance under the grill. I have a new valance that I haven't had time to install. It will go with the car. You will find them posted at the end of the picture gallery.On Mar-30-13 at 21:02:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I've received numerous questions regarding the cars mechanicals so I thought I'd post a general response 1) The gauges all function properly including the speedo and tach. 2) The synchros in the 4 speed trans function properly 3) The engine was just tuned and the carbs adjusted (yesterday) so she idles and accelerates smoothly. She also starts without hesitation. I forgot to mention the starter is new as well. 4) There is no valve or lifter noise. 5) The tires have approx 3000 miles on them 6) The entire braking system has been rebuilt and function as you would expect a non power assisted system to operate 7) The CD/radio and wipers also function properly 8) A new valve cover gasket was installed to cure a pesky oil leak 9) High and low beams work as you would expect. and the battery still tests OK
