Vehicle Detail

1955 Ford Customline with 4in chop - running, driving and CA titled PROJECT. Drive it while you continue to make it yours / better. Tags were up in Feb but should be easy to catch up if registering in CA. i took it in trade mid 2012 and the owner drove the car out to me from san clemente to corona in friday gridlock, in the dead of summer. no easy feat if you are familiar with the area. lots of distance with sporadic highway speed / stop and go traffic. THE GOOD: Body ID Tag matches VIN on Title 272 Y Block with column shifted 3spd - the car runs very strong and sounds great (straight pipes) gauges, switches, radio and clock are there and light up but needles on speedo do not work (indicators work) - the non factory gauges for voltage , water temp etc do function lights function as well as turn signals body presents well but could use finish work, still wavy in some spots. the semigloss/matte paint is still a tad too shiney for me and i was going to knock down it down with some fine grit sandpaper, this would prob also help conceal some of the amateur-ish bodywork. worked fine for the girls i used to go out with. chop done by previous owner and appears to be done well. no additional structural welding needed as far as i can tell. lowered on what i believe to be cut front springs and lowering blocks in rear. Rides surprisingly well. THE BAD: needs interior (door panels, headliner, carpeting etc) mileage unknown. MILEAGE STATED IN THE AUCTION IS OFF THE ODO WHICH DOES NOT FUNCTION. lexan front and rear windshield - NO SIDEGLASS & NO REGULATORS door opens from inside could use a new battery front cross member needs replacement or rust repair / patchwork front floorboards need minor rust repair / patchwork - passenger side is worse that driver needs new clutch at some point as she grinds from 1st to 2nd 40-50mph steering wheel shimmy - have not investigated, possibly tie-rods, ball joints? oil leak out of oil pan WHY SELL? selling since it has been sitting under a cover in nice socal weather for better part of 4 months (work, family, work family). coming to realization that with our 2nd child on the way, the car will sit for at least another year before i can continue with it. LOCAL INSPECTIONS ARE WELCOME FINE PRINT zero or negative feedback bidders contact me prior to entering your bid or i will cancel with no notice check my feedback, i have a history of maintaining smooth sales and representing my items as they are.
