Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE >>>CLICK HERE TO SEE A VIDEO OF THE LAND CRUISER You are bidding on a 1978 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser. I am selling this for my husband since he doesn’t have an eBay account. You can see that I have a long standing eBay account with pristine feedback so you can bid in confidence. Please email me any questions and I will reply back to you. Here is my husband’s description of the vehicle: I have owned the vehicle since 2010 and am moving on to another SUV which can hold more kids. I own the vehicle outright so there is no delay on getting the title. Since 2010 I have put maybe 1,000 miles on it and I have never driven it in the rain. I have disclosed every issue I know of to accurately represent the value of the vehicle and to maintain my wife’s stellar Ebay feedback. Some pictures show the top off, but I just put the top back on. The Good: * The owner before me made several improvements. They repainted the whole vehicle. Also they put a Rhino Lining type of coating on the underside and inside bed of the vehicle. Also the previous owner put a new battery in it, new oversized tires and rims and a new radiator. The vehicle also has about a 3 inch lift and an aftermarket Hell-For-Stout front bumper just waiting for you to put a winch on. The vehicle also has the power steering conversion kit. * The vehicle runs strong and straight down the road. It does not have the stock straight six. Instead the previous owner did the conversion to a V8. In 2010 when I bought it, I replaced the timing chain and the timing chain cover, alternator / spark plugs / spark plug wiring. * I just put the hard top back on (I had no top on almost since the day I bought it). I used brand new rubber seals from CCOT so the top should be watertight. I left the extra set of side mirrors on the truck. The better: In the middle of 2011, I decided on some major upgrades, and so I took it to Iron Pig Off-road in Fredericksburg, VA to have the work done. Iron Pig is a class act shop and they do great work! I spent close to $6,000 to have all the work done. They did the following: * Installed a complete front roll cage. The roll cage was not just an aftermarket bolt on. The team at Iron Pig completely tied the roll cage into the frame on both the front and back (see pictures) so that it is solid as a rock. Believe me, a full roll cage is a must on this vehicle! The truck weighs over 3,000 lbs., so you want something more than the fiberglass top and the stock half roll bar between you and any trouble you encounter. One thing to note, the roll cage butts right up against the doors so you need to pull to get the doors to close / but they do latch. If you decide to leave the doors off this is no problem / if you use soft doors this will not be a problem either. * Complete vehicle evaluation and compression check * Replaced the rubber brake lines with stainless steel ones * Front wheel spacers * Rebuilt the front knuckles and replaced the front wheel bearings * Brand new exhaust. They kept the original manifolds, but everything back is new. * Replaced front and rear axle, transmission and transfer case fluid * Installed brand new aftermarket reclining bucket seats. I am 6 foot 5 inches and I had them install the seats all the way back so there is plenty of room to drive it. The seat is adjustable, so if you are shorter it moves closer quite a bit. * In 2011, I also had the carburetor rebuilt by AED Performance in Richmond VA. Things to note: * The odometer shows as 42,699. The odometer has not worked since I got the vehicle so I’m not sure what was put on the vehicle before I got it, but like I said I have driven it very little in the last two years. * This is not a show car, it has its share of bumps and scrapes on the paint, but for the most part that’s the way you want it so you can actually drive the thing and enjoy it. * One of the tilt outside glass windows is missing. The previous owner made one out of plastic, so I have that on. You can see it in the pictures. * There is some peeling clear coat on the top of the top and rain channels. * The front rally lights are installed, but not hooked up. * There is a decent aftermarket radio in the vehicle, but only one speaker under the dash. * The fuel gage works intermittently, and the temp dashboard temp gauge is not wired. You will see that there is an auxiliary aftermarket temp, oil pressure and voltage gauge that is compatible with the V8. I expect a non-refundable $500 via PayPal within 24 hours of the exact winning bid time. You will then have an extra 7 days from the exact winning bid time to deliver a bank certified check or cash or you forfeit the deposit. If you pay the full amount within 7 days, we would be glad to hold the vehicle for you up to 7 more days so you can make arrangements for transportation. We would be glad to pick you up at the local train station or airport if you want to drive this vehicle back home. Otherwise you can arrange to have the vehicle picked up. Please note that if you arrange a third party to pick it up, it needs to be after work (5:00 PM) or on the weekend. I have the vehicle listed locally and therefore I reserve the right to end the auction if we find a local buyer. I think you will find that this is a solid vehicle and a great investment.
