Vehicle Detail

1937 Plymouth PT-50 Pickup Here we have a rare 1937 plymouth 1/2 ton pickup.... Only produced through 1941. You have to love the design of the mid 30's Art deco design by Mopar compared to Ford or Chev. I sold my 1937 Dodge 1/2 ton in Dec off of ebay for around $20K in about the same condition. I recently acquired this, but in the time it took to get here (over 2 months) another acquistion has come so pressed for time and space! The history of this rig is, originally from the Dakota's, then made its way to Wisconsin by an elderly gentleman, who passed on before it was finished, then sold by the family to another Mopar enthusiast in 2000, and it was on the road again in 2003. Believe he had the speedometer reset. So the mileage is what is on the drivetrain. It was enjoyed in the summer and stored away in the warmer garage in the winter. The pickup's color is very close to the the orginal blue offered in 37. At time of restoration, the cab ,bed , were taken off for painting. new brakes/shocks/all new electric (which is still 6volt), radiator/carb all new etc.....all gauges work as they should. Oil pressure shows 80lbs and starts everytime. I've had dozens of rigs and have done major, body off restorations, this is a nice amature restoration which could easily be taken to the next level or enjoy as it is and needs nothing! Tires are new, I put them on last week. Has a new interior kit from in brown from Roberts Motors as it came with a blue interior - which I did not like. Seems to have a solid body and the doors shut nice. It goes down the road, shifts nice, and stops pretty good. It would be a nice daily driver. It has 1936 artillery wheels on it, they were offered through 38 as optional and definitely have more eye ball than the stock wheels for 37. As you can see it has a very nice grill. The only thing that has been changed that I can see is the wiper has been changed to an electric from vacuum. In my Google searching I came across one that sold at Barrett-Jackson last year for $43,000. If you Google 1937 Plymouth pickup, you'll come across the site - it's green and black and stunning... I did add a orginal set of fog lites to the front this week, just arrived after the auction had started, chrome and amber always look very nice against black. anyway, I'm relisting it, one more time for it did'nt meet the reserve which is 15.950.00 thats it. If it does not sell this week, it will be redone in red/black and fully detailed again for the silver auction at Hot Augusts nites. I did get lots of interest and gave my phone no out to quite a few ebayers and enjoyed some great conversations with fellow mopar guys who had not ever seen one or new they ever made them! But, its for sale so if your taking the time to bid, bid to buy because you won't see it again at this price.. Feel free to email any questions. More than happy to offer my phone number for conversations and always open to consider an interesting trade. So feel free to tell what you've got. i reserve the right to end the auction as I do have it advertised locally as well.
