Vehicle Detail
***1979 Plymouth Trailduster*** AWD FUN MACHINE AND CONVERtIBLE!!! This is a unique vehicle that Plymouth only made for a limited couple year run. It is a Convertible truck as the back hatch lifts off completely. These vehicles were designed as a new and early sport-utility vehicle with everyday comforts and reliability in mind with an extra hint of fun with the lift off roof. This is an all-American steel car with an American Iron 318 small-block V8 in it. Solid as a rock, easy to maintain and Very very capable!! The 4wd system is a Beast and is a synchronized full-time AWD system. It has several different modes: a High, High Lock and a Low and Low Lock as well as the standard/normal setting. The mileage is correct to the vehicle at 77k and all the AWD system functions properly with no noises or grinding sounds from any components or transfer case. All the brakes have been fully rebuilt front and rear as well as new parking brake cables... so shoes, drums, hardware, cables, hoses, calipers and pads. Engine is smooth and reliable and has an awesome linear torque curve especially for the AWD combined with a nice big 2-barrel carb makes it ideal for trail riding. The trans is a beefy unit that is consistent and smooth combined with its gears and the 318 engine.... trans has started getting a little sloppy but should be an easy fix. This is the reason it was parked but it will drive... however it will need to be trailered home just to insure peace of mind. Previous owner used it as an everyday vehicle and painted the black trim over the original orange paint. The body is straight and true with very little rust. Front bumper has a small pull in it and the body has two novice patches in the metal right in front of the rear wheel openings on either side- thats all the metal issues. Also the interior is nice. The dash is in perfect condition and everything functions. Installed NOS inside door handles. It also has custom leather multi-adjustable seats and new carpet. Tried to disclose any issues I know about the vehicle... its a good old cruiser and a hell of a bruiser in the mud or trails! It simply can not be stopped! Fun, very simple, and one of a kind!
