1972 Corvette – It is a matching number LS5 big block. It has the original engine, 4 speed transmission, and rear end. The block number is 12S509537. Block and heads date coded 11/1971. It has T-tops, A/C, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering, and power windows. The engine runs strong and has an Edelbrock performer intake, Holly 750 carburetor, and Mallory distributor. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and has a little over 5,000 miles on it. A/C is all there, but does not work. The transmission shifts good, and the clutch was replaced when the engine was rebuilt. A Hurst shifter was also installed at the same time. The car runs and drives well. It has plenty of power. The brakes work well. It stops fine. A new gas tank and sender were installed two months ago. The interior is like new. It has new carpet and all interior panels painted. The exterior body is in really good shape with no body damage other than typical stress cracks. There is no rust in the frame or bird cage. The car was repainted 20 years ago and looks good, but is not perfect. The hood was replaced with a full hood; therefore the wiper valance panel is no longer there. The front grills need re-chroming. The headlights do not go up and down. There is a vacuum leak somewhere. Both power windows work. The glass is in good shape with minor scratches on both side windows from rolling up and down.
