Vehicle Detail
The Love Story Our 1956 Thunderbird has been loved and cherished since it was first bought in Pasadena Texas, by a husband as a gift to his wife Gloria. It was cherished and maintained in Baytown Texas until her husbands’ death in 1976. Gloria then moved back to her home state to be closer to her family in Mississippi. She was lucky to find someone to help with the maintenance and upkeep of her Thunderbird. The neighbors’ son offered to help her keep her beloved Thunderbird in tip top shape. It received regular oil changes, tires and tune ups. Without his help she would not have been able to keep her Thunderbird. She continued to drive it well into her 80s and as luck would have it her neighbors’ child still considered it his job to help maintain the Thunderbird. Even at the point she could no longer drive it received regular and ongoing maintenance to ensure it was in driving condition. Finally in her 90’s she passed away to join her beloved husband in heaven and left the Thunderbird to her neighbors child who was now elderly as well. He sold it to us when he realized that he just wouldn’t be able to maintain and care for it as it should be. Condition It Looks to be 98% original. Well kept, and lots of documents including the original invoice. It Has matching white hard top and black soft top. Automatic transmission shifts smoothly. Engine runs smooth. The seats are in great shape and show little fade. The carpeting looks to be the original and shows some fading and doesn't smell despite the wet weather of Mississippi. It has been garaged most, if not all of its life. Paint is a 5 out of 10. Interior is a 7 out of 10. Tires are about 85%. It is still in driving condition and although it has not had any major restoration work, it has been very well maintained. Equipment It is a "P" code 225hp 312 V8, Ford-O-Matic Auto Trans. It has Both Tops, Canvas and Hardtop! It has power Windows Lifts, Wipers w/washers, heating, Dealer installed Air Conditioning and the Continental kit. History She has had only two owners although the title was changed from John to Gloria when it was moved from Texas to Mississippi. It was bought in Pasadena Texas and we have the original factory invoice. Many maintenance and service records were kept and there is a clear history of care and upkeep on this Thunderbird. We are looking for a good home for this beautiful example of American Engineering and Style.
