Vehicle Detail

This is a 1969 Ford Thunderbird with a 429 Thunder-jet engine, C-6 automatic Transmision and a 9 inch posi-track rear diferental. all maching numbers, this car has not be messed with and is unadultrated. This model has bucket seets & center console, ther were only 12,425 of these luxury muscle cars manufactured. The car was rated 360 HP & can be brought to 400 HP with just bolt on parts! I baught this car at auction 3-24-12 with intentions of reselling it. I have gone through it and cleaned out the fuil tank, lines & carb changed the oil & filter, Trany fluid & filter & here is what I have found out... the last time this car was registered was 1986 so it wasn't driven for 25 years. It starts & runs very well The engine dosn't tick, tap, knock, or smoke AT ALL. It drives well, lots of power, the trany shifts well, & the posi rear end brakes both rear tires loose when you floor it! The car has never ben souped up by a teen and is un-adaultrated. All numbers match & the car is stock & origonal. The bad... I'm sure that everything worked when the car was parked but sitting & outside is very hard on them. The landou top is shot from hale. Ther is a fair amount of rust in the rear 1/4 panels, (I have found that replacement panels will cost $440, This would get rid of all the major rust). I haven't checked out the brake system yet & the right rear brake hangs up a little ( most likely a little rust in the wheel cylender & I have a rebuild kit included with the car) I haven't checked out the electrical yet & the windows don't go up and down (Both sides so it may just be a fuse) The vacume system doesn't seem to work so the head light covers don't close (but is to complicated for me to figure out) The turn signals come on but don't flash but all-in-all it is a heck of a barn find & a very good foundation to restore a hell of a muscle car. I am also willing to except motorcycles as payment If you have a bike you would like to trade let me know and we will affix a monitary value to it and inter that as your bid or possibly concider it the winning bid and end the auction! I have set a very low reserve however I may still except the highest bid even if the reserve is not met. Please feel free to e-mail me with any Questions, to set up a test drive, or for more photo's.
