Up for sale is my 1968 Porsche 912 short wheel base coupe, runs very strong, engine was just removed this past week and new seals were replaced after a thorough cleaning and inspection. Engine was then reinstalled and road tested (see video). Starts right up, runs very well through all the gears, clutch is strong, transmission is smooth in all the gears, all synchros are fine, reverse is fine, no issues. Engine does not smoke nor are there any strange engine noises. It runs very well and takes the gas very well. The 4 wheel disc brakes are excellent and stop the car on a dime. Tires are near new. Wheels are all true and car drives fine at 55mph. Car does not pull at this speed. Hubcaps are very nice all the way around; wheels are clean with no curb rash. All lights work, headlights-high and low beam, turn signals, reverse light, running lights; windshield wipers work in all speeds, tachometer works but jumps a little when you give it gas; speedometer works but sometimes you have to tap the gauge to make the needle work; gas tank gauge works, temp gauge works, radio and horn do not currently work. Trunk lid pull works as does the hood pull under the dash as does the gas tank lid. Car is very solid considering the year. We have taken pictures of the floors, under the front bonnet where we removed the spare tire and we see no rust, no cancer. There is a little spot on the lower right corner of the rear window which will require some attention, but this is all that we have found. Floor, longitudinals, front tray, battery box all look ok. It appears that someone jacked up on the right hand jack spur incorrectly and slightly bowed it out (see picture). Torsion bar covers are excellent, bottom of doors are super solid, door hinge areas and door pillars are rust free. All glass is fine with no cracks or chips; both windows go up and down with ease; key locks and unlocks driver and passenger side door; Interior is in very good condition, seats are clean with no holes, door panels present well, back seats are clean and look brand new. All seat belts are present and work. No books, no tools unfortunately. Originally Lido Gold, car was repainted red some years ago. Paint has a few chips in it from over the years. The 912 can be driven and enjoyed as it is and if the owner decides, can be repainted. It isn't perfect by any means, but it is very presentable and can be used and drived and enjoyed until you decide to repaint it/restore it. Porsches are going up in value every year and you will by no means lose on your investment. They are only going up in value as can be attested to by the prices on Ebay and at the auctions.
