Vehicle Detail

1941 pontiac Streamliner Coupe - Model 26Unsung hero of the aerodynamic era 100% Complete, rare project with tons of very hard to find parts. This is one of my all-time favorite body styles! It is just drop dead gorgeous. From a time when art deco ruled, and everyone was fascinated with aerodynamics....although they didn't really understand the science, so everything just kinda came to a point. :) I found this unmolested, time capsule beauty in New Jersey about 1 year ago and brought it with me to sunny SoCal. It is 100% original, and every piece is there. (Almost original to a fault. It didn't appear to have ever seen a thorough service. Even the points were original. This leads me to believe it is a lower mileage vehicle.) It started and ran smoothly as could be, and the transmission shifted smoothly through the gears. I didn't drive it as it has no brakes. Being from New Jersey, it's rusty. Quite rusty. But I've spent the past year accumulating parts to fix that issue. A beautiful, very rare set of unused, NOS fenders comes with this project: the 2 front, and the passenger rear. (The driver's rear is workable.) This is a big project metalwise, but oh so worth it once completed. I just am backed up with unfinished projects at the moment, so I've decided to find good homes for a couple of them. I've also listed a fantastic '38 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup project. If you're anything like me, you know how hard it is to pass up a cool car that you can save! :) Please read the entire description, because this project is special. I prefer stock vehicles, especially models that typically get lost to history; ones that suffered in salvage yards rather than being restored simply because they weren't a '57 Chevy. You just don't see these prewar streamlined cars anymore. So, my intention was to do a 100 point resto on this one. I've spent the last year gathering OEM and NOS parts to complete this project and make it the finest of the fine. As I said, the body needs some help, but is very workable. Rear fenders will need some work, but are useable. Driver's front is too, but the passenger front is scrap. However, included is a set (2 front, one rear) of NOS fenders in beautiful, unused condition. The frame is solid as can be, but the body mounts should be replaced. The original straight 6 was running, and I did some major servicing as described below. I haven't started it since. 3 speed trans shifts through all the gears smoothly. paint is the original parma wine. Really beautiful color when combined with the red and black accent stripes on the chrome and emblems. This is a partial list of the parts that will accompany this car. I've close to $9,000 in this project: - Spare set of beautiful, unused NOS front fenders - Uber RARE - Spare unused NOS passenger rear fender - RARE - pair of NOS rocker moldings - NOS dome light switch - NOS clutch and brake pedal pads- NOS accelerator pedal- NOS heat riser tube- NOS cigarette lighter element- NOS temperature sending unit - RARE!
