I want to be totally honest about this car. This modified ignition Ghia has had a complete overhaul years ago. I have all the paperwork and receipts that accompany it. For whatever reason, this lowered custom Ghia has had the windshield replaced with an MG one. This being done, the windows don't actually line up with the windshield. I have created a clear car cover that sits over the car to protect it from the elements. The top had to be custom made to fit the windshield so it doesn't line up with original groove. The seats have been replaced with Mustang seats as told to me by the previous owner. The previous owner also had it on a tow truck and when the car came off the truck, the brake wasn't on and the car rolled and smacked the nose a bit against the wall (see photo). Also, the windshield wipers used to work then didn't so I'm assuming it's a fuse that needs to be replaced. The brakes could stand to be bled on the passenger side but that was just as of recently. There is a small rust area on the drivers side door in the usual spot. All this being said, this car is a blast to drive! It has an 1100cc engine that runs and runs and runs. New battery, new electric fuel pump, and had a tune up a year ago with a certified VW mechanic. He said the transmission could stand to be replaced but 'knowing VW's it could last for another 5 years without a problem.' The Ghia shifts smoothly but sometimes sticks going into second and occasionally pops out if your foot is on the clutch. I am also including all of the receipts and several manuals noted in the photos. I have to sell her because my condo association has changed the parking regulations to limit us to 1 car. It breaks my heart to sell her but I'd love it if she went to a loving home. She needs some TLC but is worth it. If you don't want attention, you don't want this Vintage Ghia. People stop me ALL THE TIME to talk about her. Doesn't matter where, at the gas station, sitting in traffic, AS I'M DRIVING, everywhere! Whoever is with me in the car laughs at how much people talk to us when we're out and about. I have this car listed locally and reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time.
