Vehicle Detail
This is 1997 FJ80 Toyota Land Cruiser with 206,000 miles. It runs very well and feels like it has plenty of miles left in it. It is in very good condition for its age and milage. Has a clear title. I am selling only because my wife wants something newer. Bad things: • As one would expect for a vehicle of this age, there are some scratches and wear in the paint. The most serious examples are on the front bumper, roof, near the driver’s side tail light, and on the passenger side front door, as shown in the pictures. • There is a rip the leather in the driver’s seat. • There is an oil leak somewhere, and I have to put a quart in every month or so. • The rear passenger side door does not always lock or unlock with the remote, but it usually works after a few tries. You sometimes have to lock and unlock manually from the inside. • Both front seats do not move forward or backward with the electronic control. They are both now set to neutral positions, and can be adjusted with a wrench if needed. • The front tires and rear tires do not match, and none of them have much life left. The truck would really ride much better with a set of four new matching tires. • As shown in one of the pictures, there are some dark markings in between the spokes of the rear driver’s side wheel that I have not been able to remove. • The rear defroster does not seem to work as well as it should. Good things: • Other than the issues described above, the truck runs and drives very well and has no mechanical issues that I am aware of. • Factory radio has been replaced with an Alpine IDA-X305, which integrates with your iPod or other mobile device. The unit is hooked up to the factory amplifier and sounds excellent. • There is no check engine light and the car passed Missouri safety and emissions when last tested. • The transmission shifts smoothly and feels strong. • New catalytic converters, which is a common expensive repair on Land Cruisers of this age. • Other than the rip in the driver’s seat, the interior is in reasonably good shape. • All of the accessories work perfectly. • Oil has been changed with Mobil 1 every 5,000 miles since I have owned it. If you are interested, I would be happy to set up an appointment for you to take a look at it.
