Vehicle Detail

History: Like your father told you and his father told him Lincoln stands for one thing: American Luxury. The company was founded in 1915 by Henry M. Leland but didn't start making automobiles until after the war and by 1922 it was purchased by the Ford Motor company. In the early 1990's Lincoln decided to get serious about something other then luxury. It was now time to add performance to the mix. Out came the Mark VIII in 1993. With it's 32 valve V8 engine and sport tuned suspension this was now a serious performance and luxury car. LSC stands for Luxury Sport Coupe and they weren't kidding, step on the gas and zoom off it goes! The Mark VIII was way ahead of it's time and the first car to have many unique features such as xenon headlights and neon taillights for added safety. This car cost new over $40,000 back in 1998 so they were by no means inexpensive. If you like these big stylish coupes, you will be sure to love driving this car! I always wanted an LSC for my collection so I bought this car with plans of keeping it forever but when we found out my wife is pregnant with twins it turns out we will be buying a bigger house with a smaller garage so a few cars must go. I bought this particular LSC from an older gentleman named Allen. After talking to Allen and him telling me how he waxed the door jambs I knew he was my kind of guy and I had to have his car. I became the third owner. He had it since 25K miles. My Auction: I will attempt to describe this fine automobile to the best of my ability. All used cars have flaws, please be realistic in your expectations. I will point out anything that I think stands out as I believe anyone who doesn't isn't being thorough with their auction. Some things don't show up in pictures so I have to tell you about them in the description. All the other Marks for sale on Ebay have some flaws too, the only difference is I tell you about them and don't try to get you to rely on seeing them in the pictures because some things are too easy to miss if you don't know they are there. Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid. Please view the link to all of the addition pictures I have posted on www.flickr.com BEFORE you bid, some of them have captions, I want you to know exactly what you are getting. Please read my entire auction carefully and maybe even several times BEFORE you bid. Also please be respectful of my auction, these cost real money that I have to work hard for just like you do. Please make sure you have the money in place BEFORE you bid and you have already asked your significant other or whoever you need permission from to buy a car BEFORE you bid. Thanks and good luck! Link to over 150 pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/92267963@N06/. If you click on the picture you can make it larger, next click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the picture, this makes it even larger, next click on "view all sizes" on the upper right and you can super size the images. They come out much better then they do on Ebay and you can really get a feel for the quality of this car. If Ebay disables the link simply copy and paste it to your browser. If you still have trouble contact me and I will be sure to get the photos e-mailed to you. Exterior Condition: This Mark VIII LSC is finished in stunning Midnight Grey Metallic over Light Graphite Grey hides. This is one of the rarest colors the Mark VIII comes in, you see a lot of silver, white, or red ones but very seldom the Midnight Grey Metallic. The paint is as smooth as glass and shines like a mirror. There are no swirl marks, hazing, fading, or cracking of the paint. The car looks like a new car that could be on the showroom floor. Like any 15 year old car it does have a few minor scratches, minor parking lot dings, and minor stone chips. There is a small ding I point to in one of the photos on the drivers front fender and also another ding in front of the right rear wheel I point to. On the left corner of the rear bumper there is a few scratches as well as about a 1.5" gouge I point to in one of the pictures. I always garage it and so did the previous owner. There is no crud in the door, trunk, or hood jambs; they are all squeaky clean. To say the exterior of this car is super clean is an understatement. All of the rubber gaskets are in excellent condition and are free of rips or cuts. The chrome wheels are in very good condition however all four of them are peeling around the center hub area only. The rear tires are new and the fronts are almost new with about 70% tread remaining. There are no uneven wear patterns on the tires. The wheel wells are so clean you could eat off of them. The engine compartment is super clean and comes fully detailed. The trunk is also very clean and the spare still has the little nubs on the bottom, it has never been on the ground. All of the glass is in perfect condition and does not have any chips or cracks. The headlight lenses are perfectly clear also which is rare for these cars. The taillights also do not have any cracks which is rare especially for the center one. Whether it be mechanics, people at the gas station, or other motorists, whenever I drive this car people fall all over it! I am here to tell you between the shiny Midnight Metallic Grey paint, the chrome wheels, and the beautiful classic shape of the body this car turns heads! If you don't like attention this is not the car for you:) Interior Condition: The leather seats in this LSC are soft and supple and look brand new. This is really the strong point of the car. There are no rips, tears, fading, or cracking of the leather. They are perfectly clean, and really look fantastic, they are that nice. I doubt anyone has ever sat in the back seat. I just bought a factory set of New Old Stock floor mats with the Mark VIII emblem embroidered into them. Since they are new they are perfectly clean. The carpet underneath has some dirty spots but the floor mats cover most everything. There is however a coffee stain behind the passenger seat I point to in one of the photos. The steering wheel leather looks brand new and is not all discolored like many Marks get by this age. The headliner does not sag. This car has never been smoked in. The cup holders pop in and out perfectly, which is also rare. Mechanically: This Lincoln runs and drives just like a new Mark VIII did back in 1998. I know because I drove one then. This car is very tight with no rattles or funny noises as it goes down the road. The brakes are smooth with no pulsating. The rear pads are brand new and the fronts have at least 90% pad left. The car starts right up and accelerates smoothly and the transmission shifts as it should. The air conditioning blows ICE cold and the heat is HOT. Every single button and switch works as it should. Both Xenon headlights work properly as do the neon taillights, this is good as they are very expensive to repair or replace. The air suspension works properly on this car and DOES NOT LEAK! Even after the car sits for several days the air suspension will not go down. This is also very important because it can be expensive to fix. There are no warning lights illuminated on the dash and everything works as it should. There is no smoke coming out the tailpipe either on start up or while the car is running. This car is truly magnificent to drive. Recent Maintenance: -New wiper blades -New right rear brake caliper -New rear brake pads -Left rear brake caliper taken apart and rods greased -Brake fluid flushed -Antifreeze flushed -Upgraded rear ballast for center neon taillight (it is supposed to be better quality and last longer) -New right front wheel bearing Additional Notes: -I have a clean title on hand in my name -Only 90K miles! -This car passes emissions -The date was not set on my camera when I took the pictures, they were all taken on 1/14/13 -By bidding on my Lincoln you are entering into a contract to purchase an automobile, this is not the first right of refusal. -Please don't contact me asking me what the reserve price is. It is unfair to other bidders. The car is priced to sell and if you want it get in the game and bid and have some fun! That is what owning a Mark VIII is all about: FUN FUN FUN! -I require a $200 deposit via Paypal with 48 hours of auction close. You can pay the balance in one of two ways. If you are picking up the car you can pay me CASH. This means you will be counting out greenbacks and I will be handing you the title and the keys. If you are having the car shipped you can pay with a bank to bank wire transfer. I will not accept any checks of any kind. You CANNOT pay the entire amount with Paypal, that is only for the deposit. -I will be happy to assist your shipper in loading the car if you are having it shipped. -If you would like to come take a look at the car and test drive it BEFORE you bid you are welcome to do so. If you would like feel free to bring your mechanic because I am not one. -This car doesn't have any of the typical Mark VIII afflictions: The blend doors do work properly, the cup holders are not broken, the gas cap button works, etc. etc.. -I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. If you would like to fly in and drive home I live about 30 minutes from either Chicago Midway or Chicago O'Hare airports. -If you have any questions about the car please feel free to e-mail me through Ebay or better yet call me at 630-334-6974. I will be happy to discuss the car with you. My name is Joe -Good luck and happy bidding to all!!! On Feb-07-13 at 12:25:35 PST, seller added the following information: If you have zero feedback or o feedback in the last year please call me at 630-334-6974 before you bid or I will be forced to cancel your bid. -Also did you know they only made 297 Midnight Metallic LSC's in 1998? Chances are you will never ever run into another one on the road. That makes for a pretty unique car!
