In a world of progressively swelling curb weights, Mazda's RX-7 was a rare and welcome anomaly. Penned by designer Tom Matano and built with such an excruciating eye toward weight reduction that its wiring harnesses were redesigned to shorten the wire lengths, the third generation RX-7 - sold here from 1993 to 1995 - held the distinction of being not only lighter, but also smaller and faster than the car it replaced. I've owned the car for few years and absolutely love the car, but unfortunately I have to get rid of it to make room in the garage.I'm selling the car with no reserve, so make me an offer. The car is stock except for the following items: 3" aftermarket down-pipe, 3" high flow catalytic converter, after market adjustable shocks (not sure of the brand), Japanese OEM steering wheel, aftermarket springs, aftermarket radio, and Greddy Exhaust. The exhaust in the picture will not be coming with the car. The car has a salvaged title, but ran and handled very well and when it was working.The body is in good shape and would make an excellent track car. I want to be honest as possible about the cars condition of the car so you know what you're getting into, so I'll lay out the issues the car has. The tires are completely gone.The paint job looks good from a distance, but has issues up close (cheap paint job). It has some paint over-spray, where it shouldn't be, 2 small spots with rust, and some chips.The lid on drivers door compartment is broken (common).The cup that you use to pull the drivers door closed is broken.The drivers side power window switch is broken.The rear ABS sensor is broken (no working ABS until this is fixed).The drivers door speaker cover is missing.The passenger door thing that you pull the door closed is broken (common).The car is missing the floor mats, plastic engine under tray that directs air into the radiator, duct that directs air into the intake, & air conditioning condenser.The hood pull is broken (but works).There is a piece of the windshield molding that is missing.The aftermarket radio doesn't work.The rear weather-strip for the hatch needs to be replaced (water gets in when you wash the car).Some of the interior parts under the rear hatch are from a touring model, not an R1 model.The door sill pieces are from another car and are the wrong color (beige, but should be black).And finally the big one, the engine is pretty much gone due to a coolant seal failure. It will start and spit out a bunch of white smoke, but driving it is not an option.The engine will need to be rebuild or replaced to get her running again.The car will need to be towed or trailer-ed home.
