The 1956 Pontiac Starchief carried a big, smooth impressive presence with superior performance and handling. One of the industry's most advanced high-torque, high-compression engines was offered. The new 227hp StratoStreak V8 with a new transmission to refine all the power provided. Distinguish the Starchief from any other by its tapered diagonal moldings and the three star emblem located on the front fenders and doors. This a the rare white on white that was the least ordered of the day. It was put in a garage over 20 years ago and has sat there until the estate sale we got it at. RI is a non title state for cars over 10 years old. There is no paperwork with this car since all registered owners are now dead. You can do a title search on the vin and see it is not stolen or a fraud in any way shape or form. Just look at the shape this car is in. I wish I looked that good after being 57 years old. The interior is in GREAT condition. Some idiot added speakers to the front doors but the back doors are unmolested. Does it run? We do not know. The fluids are most likely no good after all these years and the gas will be like shellack in ther bottom of the tank. The spare tire looks new but all the other tires will most likely need to be replaced. I would not trust them myself. Once a mechanic gets hold of it it WILL run if he knows anything at all about combustion engines. We do not try to start, turn over or otherwise try to fix things that we know nothing about. So to answer the question, yes it will run. On Jan-18-13 at 06:39:25 PST, seller added the following information: Yes there is some rust. Dont know if it goes through. One v8 emblem missing on the drivers side. Motor looks complete but the air cleaner is in the trunk.
