Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a red 1970 Chevy Nova 2dr.coupe. This vehicle was ordered by my Father in 1970 and he remained the owner until his passing last year. I'm now the owner and putting it up for auction. I had a hand in picking out the colors when he ordered it. Also I requested he order it with a 3 speed manual on the floor, which he did. This makes the car rare, having come from the factory with a 6 cyl and a 3 spd on the floor. The car has been garaged kept it's whole existance. He had it repainted the original color in 1997, the body is solid and straight. The trunk and floor pans are solid as well. Due to my fathers illness, the car hasn't been started in five years and I haven't tempted to start it either. I'm selling the car as is. I'm figuring if someone is looking to restore or build a muscle car this is the car to start with. As you can tell from the pictures, it would be a great car for this. I can see some one pulling out the 6 and dropping in a big block and would have to convert to a floor shift becuase everything is there. As mentioned the body and chasis is solid as a rock, one would be hard press to find a 1970 Nova unrestored in better condition. I rolled the car out of the garage that's it's been garaged in from day one, to take pictures. The reason I'm selling it, is because I just moved back to the state and don't have nor the time restore or place to keep it. I'd like to see it go to someone that would restore and enjoy it. On Jan-21-13 at 06:25:56 PST, seller added the following information: I've had several questions about condition of the car. The following are the only issues with the car: Brakes will need gone through, fluid has leaked down from car setting for five years without being driven. Someone restoring car, I would think would upgrade them anyway. Had question about any bondo in it? I've gone around car and tapped around all the rockers, quarters, fender well lips, and everything is tinny, no solid thud sounds that you would hear from bondo. I've been around the car throughout it's 43 years and have never seen rust in these areas. Vent wing handle on right side is broken. Car hasn't been started in five years, though with car in neutral I can turn the fan so it's not locked up. No attempts have been made to start it because I haven't had the time to fool with it. I was told since it's been sitting for five years, it would be best to empty the tank, blow all the lines out, remove and replace all the fluids,etc..... I know before my father became ill and quite driving it, he would take it out weekends on sunny days and drive around. On Jan-21-13 at 06:55:52 PST, seller added the following information: Car has never been wrecked. The biggest share of the miles on the car were put on it in the first 8-10 years. It was driven mostly by my mother..my father had a company car. In fact, one year when I was visiting, my mother told me to get it out of the garage and take it back with me, so she could park her new car in the garage. As mentioned, it's been garaged kept the whole time, my father wouldn't let it sit out. Everyone, think of this car as one of those barn find stories you always hear about. On Jan-23-13 at 07:18:42 PST, seller added the following information: I do have the Protecto plate for the car along with the owners manual. On Jan-24-13 at 10:08:12 PST, seller added the following information: I took additional pictures today showing areas that normally are issues with older cars. If the picture shows one side (like a rocker panel), the other side is in the same condition. I also topped off the fluid in the brake master cylinder and the brake pedal is firm now.
