Thanks!<---- NO RESERVE ! Up for auction is a very clean 86' 325es coupe. All original body and paint, no accidents ever. Paint is in great shape and just needs a good waxing. Interior is very clean. Seats have no rips or tears with just normal wear on the drivers seat and the dash has a few of the normal E30 cracks. All electrics work as they should. AC has been converted to R134a and works well but has a leak somewhere, gets low halfway through the summer. The odometer stopped working about 10k ago, it just needs the typical gear replacement. It has been smoked in so it would need to be cleaned if that bothered you. Recently installed new muffler, spark plugs, and rear LSD differential with seals. In the past year has new KYB struts all around with new rear upper mounts, new air flow meter, shifter bushings with Z3 shift lever, cap / rotor, o2 sensor, fuel filter, left front control arm, brake master cylinder, and brakes pads all round. The front tires are almost new, the rears are down to the wear bars. Transmission is quiet with no grinds and shifts smooth. Clutch is of unknown age but works well and feels like there's plenty of meat left. Battery is OEM BMW and it's about 5 years old, still works good. The guibo and center bearing are about 5 years old. THE BAD: Even though the engine runs good the head gasket has started leaking coolant at the #5 cylinder. It's leaking outside and into the cylinder. It only leaks when the engine cold and only uses a overflow bottles worth of coolant every 3-4 months. While having owned it the last 5 years it has never been overheated. Having had many BMWs with a M20 engine and some with 300k+ we're not sure why it is doing this at such a low mileage. It would probably just need a gasket and cylinder head job to get it back on the road. It is probably due for a timing belt too. Also the steering rack would need to be replaced, it developed a bad leak at the left rack seal. The PS pump belt was removed to prevent damage to the pump from being run low on fluid. Overall it is a very nice car that needs some work. He'd fix it but just doesn't have the time or money, I'd fix it if it wasn't out in California. If the engine wasn't repaired it would make a great candidate for a engine swap as the body and interior are in great shape. Passed it's last CA smog check.
