Vehicle Detail

I bought this Mercedes in June last year as I was commuting quite a bit. That has changed, as I linve 4 miles from my shop now. The car was in an estate, and sat for years in a dry garage before I bought it. The only thing I needed to do was replace the thermostat, which got stuck open. I changed oil, filters and adjusted the valves. We also changed the injectors. The bad things are: The upholstery has tears. There are many corrosion issues with electrics, but all essentials work fine. Even the dash lights work. The passengers seat doesn't want to go forward, hence it is stuck in the back position. All other functions work*The drivers seat head rest doesn't work. The cruise control doesn't work ( I had it working just a couple of times, but don't really like cruise control)The passengers side front door window, doesn't come down.Sometimes I have to start in Neutral, it seems there is an issue with the neutral start switch. Cold days only.Central locks work, except from the drivers door. The key doesn't want to turn anymore in the lock. (recent malfunction)No air conditioning.* Sometimes the seats don't want to work, but wiggling on the fuse connections activates the thing again. This is why I suppose it is corrosion on the terminals that are the issueThe car has been in an accident. The drivers side rear door has been repaired with a gallon of Bondo. It cracked and is ugly. The exhaust pipe between the headers and muffles needs replacement. Mufflers are good!Paint is dull. The good. The car is, for its age, low mileage. I have included the odometer reading picture when i bought it. The odometer crapped out when I reset it on 6/27 this year. It now reads100,877. It had 92,125 Miles on it when I bought it. It starts every time ( although I have to put it in neutral sometimes). It smokes a little from under the car, due to the pipe that is shot.It shifts a bit chunky when the engine is cold, but after 3 miles it becomes smooth. The engine runs fine and needs a little warming up too. The turbo seems to be doing its job well. The heater system works great. The airco doesn't. The compressor is stuck and the vee belt was taken off.The brakes are very good and nicely controllable. The steering has no play neither does any of the wheel bearings or tie rods. The car is in about perfect condition underneath. The bad shape of the body is a contradiction to the floor and chassis.Radio works, although sometime the rear speakers disappear. ( contacts?)Horn, wipers lights all work as they should. All gages work. Oil P is 3 bar, and about 2.5 at idle when warm. This is about it. I would prefer you have a look at the car before bidding, but understand that is not always possible. I tell the story as it is, so feel free to contact me. I can take picture of any detail you want, as the car sits here in front of my shop. Pictures from under the car may take a while until we have a lift free. I am not in the business of selling cars, my shop services and repairs VintageSportsCars and HistoricRaceCars. You can check it out on the Internet. No reserve, great car to convert to veggie oil. After listing I noticed the auto check report saying differently about the odometer than I did. I don't know anything for sure, please disregard everything I said about the odometer readings. I was told the father of the lady I bought the car from has purchased it new. The accident report is wrong. The car was obviously in an accident and the insurances paid. Makes you wonder..... Yves The car is driven on an almost daily basis. Please come over to Woodstock and check her out before bidding.
