Vehicle Detail

3 DAY AUCTION ONLY!!!!!! RELISTED BECAUSE OF A NON PAYING BIDDER!!!! Up for bids is a 1977 Chevrolet Elcamino. This is a factory 250-6cyl-straight drive-column shift. This is pretty rare but if your more of a V-8 guy it will slip right in and if im not mistaken bolt right up to the standard trans thats in it. This is a running, driving car guys. You can use it like it is or work on it a little at a time while you drive it. Its not one of those cars you buy for a project and 5 years later its still sitting because it doesnt run out. The engine sounds great and theres no smoke or any noise that shouldnt be there. The trans shifts fine also. I was told it has a fairly new clutch in it and it feels good like there is one but im just going by what I was told. The exhaust is pretty quiet and still has the catalytic converter on it. It starts right up and the choke works as it should. As I said this is a driveable car. As far as driving it to where you live, well thats up to you. Personally I never try to drive a strange car any long distance without checking it out but as I said, thats up to you. I havent driven it a whole lot, it was traded in on a nicer Elcamino I had. The guy that had it started doing a little work on it but decided he wanted to have one that was completely finished and ready to roll so I took this one on trade. It could easily make a real nice driver or project for you. The car has 4 new tires on it so it must have been good enough to drive if they spent that much on tires. He says most of the suspension was rebuilt over the past couple years, I even see new bushings in the front stabilizer bar. It drives and handles good. The rear has fairly new air shocks on it that seem to hold air just fine. The interior needs work but is driver quality. Dash has a cover on it so im guessing it has cracks. Carpet is there but not to pretty. Seat is fair but also not real pretty. Door panels are loose at the top, see pics, and the remainder of them need redyed or painted with vinyl paint, again, driver quality. This car does not have air, the heater works good. The am/fm radio comes on but I dont hear any noise, may just be the speaker. I see where some have been taken out from behind the seats, that could be the problem. The body on this car is fair but with a littlle work you could make it nice. The front floorpans are real good but the ones behind the seats need work. Passenger side is the worst. The hood has a little rust on the lower lip of it, not major but it is there. The front fenders are decent, drivers side looks to have had some work done on it sometime. Passenger side I think was ok. Drivers door is decent driver quality but needs work to be nice. The passenger door is good on the outer part but the inside bottom of it is pretty bad. It still works fine and ok for a driver but will need replaced if youre going to make it nice. The bed has some rust showing on the bottom behind the rear wheels and maybe a spot or two elsewhere but not real bad. The tailgate is real nice. The hood is good and straight and NOT bent like most of them were. Front bumper is pretty straight but needs to be rechromed to be nice, ok for a daily driver. Rear is bent up some but useable. I think the wheelcovers are original and all 4 of them are there in decent condition. You can see in the pics that there is some other shade of blue paint in different areas of the car, thats where a little surface rust was touched up and the larger areas have had some rust repair on some of them. The body is actually pretty decent on this car, it has some rust but by no means a rust bucket. The frame is good front to back and the body mounts all seem to be solid. It does have some underneath rust like they all get on the bottom panels but in no way eat up. The inside of the bed has some rust, you can see in the pics where the previous owner but a little fiberglass in it temporarialy but its not to serious..This could be made into a very nice Elcamino guys or you can drive it as is. Im guessing its probably fairly easy on gas, the rear is fairly high ratio. Its ready to roll as is but as i mentioned earlier I havent driven it a lot so you check it out and be the judge.
