Vehicle Detail
Here is a very nice 1967 Ford Fairlane Pro-Touring style project. This is the perfect opportunity for someone to ‘pick up where they left off’ and save a ton of money while finishing a beautiful, professionally-built car – a very cool ride. The story begins as the owner of this car hired a professional shop to perform the work on his Fairlane. What you see here is between $40,000 and $55,000 in billable labor and materials according to (2) sources I spoke to. Unfortunately, the owner passed away during the build process and progress naturally ceased. What they created was a pretty awesome car that needs to be finished. If you are not interested in welding, rust repair, body work, painting, etc – then this is the car for you. All the tough stuff is done! Here are a few key points about the car and its’ build: - 4-link FOX-style 8.8 rear setup, 'Quad Shock' option for GTs only, with Axle Dampers and rear sway bar - 4-wheel disc brakes - Painless wiring system - Fuel door moved from tag to right quarter (for modern fuel injection tank setup) - Custom trunk floor setup, looks to accomodate 03/04 GT fuel tank arrangement - 4.6L mod motor, looks like from 03/04 GT - Tremec TR-3650 5-speed transmission - Steeda Tri-Ax shifter assy - Custom frame ties originating from rear link setup - Front adjustable struts with UPR components - Custom engine bay aprons/panels - Modern A/C system with modern controls, heater box, etc installed - Power rack and pinion steering - Custom gauge cluster and dash design - IDIDIT tilt-wheel - Have rear glass, quarter glass and door glass, missing one wing window assy - Comes with power window assemblies for door glass - Power 9-way drivers seat - Front buckets from Mustang - All bodywork done at high level, metal replacement - Beautiful deep blue metallic paint - 427-style fiberglass hood (just sitting on it for pictures) - Many additional parts come with it, including a second power rack & pinion unit - Fifth digit of VIN is Y, so it was originally a big-block 390 FE car I hope you can pardon my camera, the quality of the pictures don’t do the car any justice. The paint is a bit darker than the pics and the car is dusty. I wiped it off a bit, but it really needs to be washed. It’s too cold here to take it outside to wash it – and it’s snowing as I type this. You are welcome to schedule an appointment to come and review this car in person before the auction ends. I am located in East Baltimore, MD. The car has a clear VA title. I can trailer the car to its new home for $1.75 per loaded mile anywhere in the eastern US. I am very impressed with the engineering and build on this car. This is not something you will see a home hobbyist create. It deserves a good home with someone who will finish assembly of this car. It surely will be a hot car at the local cruise-in and possibly a life-long keepsake. You don’t find cars of this caliber at this price point very often – don’t miss it. The panel fitment, alignment and body work is exemplary. This car will end up having the style and class of a 60’s musclecar with the reliability of a modern powertrain and suspension. This should be a lot of fun on the road! Note that the rear height is temporarily set and the new owner will have the opportunity to place the coil springs to set the height and ride of their choice. I've had a lot of questions about my username on EBAY. No, I am not a business; I am simply a retiree that plays with 60s and 70s FORDs. Therefore, I do not have links to financial institutions for loans, etc - and I accept cash. I have about 100 pictures of this car and the included parts, etc – please visit this Photobucket link to see all the pictures. Look closely at the parts pictures – you’ll find a lot of small pieces and extras, too. Like 3 radiators, two rad fans, the fuel filler assembly that they were working with, hood hinges, extra headlight rings, brake lines, fuel injection lines, etc, etc. CHECK OUT ALL THE PICTURES AT THIS LINK. YOU’LL MISS A LOT IF YOU DON’T! Ebay only allows 24 pictures, so I had to add about 75 more elsewhere. http://s1267.beta.photobucket.com/user/MuscleCarRescue/library/1967%20Ford%20Fairlane%20Pro%20Touring%20Project There is a small amount of deterioration/corrosion on a few parts – like the IDIDIT tilt steering column. The column will need to be sanded and painted – or steel wooled to make a satin or brushed stainless finish. It seems that after the owner’s passing, the items weren’t as closely watched as they should have/could have been. There are also a few small marks in the paint – not much. I would bet that the marks could be handled by a body tech with an airbrush setup in about an hour’s work. You have to look for the blemishes to find them. **Added since EBAY didn't post this question when it was asked, Is the wiring harness from the ECM to the engine available? Thanks Yes, the wiring harness from the engine to the ECM is in place. Actually, they put the harness through a nice, large grommet in the right firewall and into the area behind the glove box. If you look at the attached picture, you can see the harness and connector just below the ECM (gray)
