Vehicle Detail
I have decided to thin down my collection of Cars-- So up for sale is this 1965 Conv. Mustang A Code 289 Numbers Matching car. I purchased this car about a year ago with the intent of fully restoring it - but have decided to put my time and effort into a 64 T-Bird that I found .It can be daunting to buy a car on E-Bay so I will discribe this car to the best of my ability from the perspective of one wishing to restore it to its former glory. For added comfort you may review my 250+ positive feedback reviews. The former owner claimed that in the late 80's he spent $ 16,000. to have the car restored--if he did he was ripped off !! The car is in overall good condition and the pictures are a fairly good rendition of what you are buying-- Very light surface rust on the underbody, can be scraped off with your fingernail- pretty much a non-issue, a small patch of surface rust is on the trunk and around the cover of the convertible top-- again if this is looked after fairly soon should not be a problem- there is a fairly clear picture of this trunk area. The interior is fair to good with no rips or tears only a little color fade- carprt should be cleaned- Dash and steering are clear in pictures and again fair. The brakes and suspension seem to be solid and the car runs straight when going and stopping. Engine and transmission are smooth and perform as they should- carb problems exist and need to be adjusted from time to time- perhaps a new carb is in order?-I don't know. The paint is dull but might come back with a polish- I would suggest a repaint-- the front valance under the bumper is bent- $ 80.00 on E-Bay. This car can be driven as is and make a nice weekend cruiser- but is an excellent candidate for a full restoration - which was my plan. you would be starting with a reasonably nice car- not a piece of junk. I want you purchase experience to be a good one so please ask question call at reasonable hours or better still come by and test drive the car Please respect the E-Bay community and only bid if you plan to buy- I will help with shipping etc. Clear title in hand. $ 500.00 deposit on successful bid with balance within 7 days.. This is No Reserve auction so bid to win. Good Luck and Happy New Year.!!
