Excellent mechanical condition, body in very good condition. History: Purchased new by my sister, she religiously stuck to all scheduled maintenance (changed oil every 5,000 miles, kept it lubricated, wheels aligned, etc.) and drove it for 15 years and 220,000 miles. In 2002 it was sold to a friend. He had the engine overhauled (new rings and bearings) replaced the clutch, and used it very little (10,000 miles over ten years). I bought it back last summer. I replaced starter, alternator, all wheel bearings, all brake discs, calipers, brake shoes, brake drums, clutch cylinders, brake cylinders, and tires this year, over $1500. It now has 243,000 miles on the odometer. Mechanically the truck is in excellent condition. I drove it to Key West and back, 2500 miles at 75MPH in 100 degree heat. It used a quart of oil. It is stone axe reliable, and drives like new. It’s only minor issue is a slight hiccup occasionally – probably a sticking PVC valve. It has been like that for at least fifteen years, and has zero effect on power or reliability, so no one has bothered to fix it. Body is solid in all respects, and the original paint is generally still quite good. There is some rust in the left rear panel of the bed near the exhaust, and a bit of trim missing around the windshield and front bumper. Although never in a wreck, the truck has it’s collection of minor dings, worn seats, etc., from 25 years of service. It comes with a quite serviceable camper fitted when the truck was new. Toyota trucks from this period with the 22R/ 5-speed are famous for being tough, bullet proof machines built to last. This one is an excellent example.
