If you have always wanted to own a classic Mercedes this is it. Low mileage and in beautiful condition this car has it all. Beautiful mercedes styling combined with German engineering in an immaculately maintained vehicle. This rare 450 SLC, the elongated hard top version of the SL, was the top car in the Mercedes line up and sold for $44k in 1979. All of the performance and flair of the SL with a proper back seat make this a functional, luxurious sports car. I am the third owner of this car. I have owned it for 10 years and I hate to part with it but a recent marriage leaves me with too many cars for the garage and I can't bear to park it outside. It has always been kept in a garage with a cover. The leather interior is without tears or rips with only a few signs of aged leather. Even the first aid kit is original and stocked. Paint is near perfect with a couple very small nicks. No cracks in the dash and all wood trim is perfect. The engine, with less than 90k miles is barely broken in and is smooth and powerful. It doesn't burn any oil. The 450 V8 is known to regularly go 250k miles! All windows and sunroof operate smoothly. Original radio and cassette deck work. Air conditioner blows cold but could benefit from fresh freon or whatever they put in them these days. One piece of trim is missing from the bottom of the drivers seat by the adjuster otherwise all chrome is near perfect. I will include a never installed set of sheepskin seat covers, (a $250 value) and a top of the line fabric car cover. Original owners manual and paperwork included. I have been as thorough as possible in my description of this car but it is 33 years old and I may have missed some minor details. I am selling this car as is without warranty.
