Vehicle Detail

Cool and unusual car! 1960 Fiat convertible, recently out of a 20 year storage by previous owner. I got it running, cleaned up the fuel system, adjusted the valves, new battery, new tires, re-did the brakes including new wheel cylinders, and put on a new set of radials. All four cylinders are between 135 and 140 pounds of compression. No fluid leaks, runs clean, good power. I would recommend replacing the electric fuel pump, which is not really dependable. It is replacement itself, so you could go with another fit-all electric fuel pump, or re-install an original mechanical pump on the engine. The body is really nice. I can't find any rust holes or repair. Some surface rust on underside surfaces. I have plenty of detailed pictures in the links below. There is undercoating which is flaking off, which looks uglier than it is. Nice trunk. Bottoms of floors look good. Had a full repaint sometime over 20 years ago, and the paint is not nearly as good as it looks in the pictures when you get up close. Still, looks good at 10 feet, and will be an easy respray if you ever want to look prettier. Dent in back panel below trunk will probably push right out, I've already pushed out one in the driver's door, just haven't worked my way in behind the panel yet. Interior is nice - dash and seats and boot. New carpet would really be an improvement, but not necessary. Top, however, is shot. Still there on the top irons, but is too dry and shrunken to put up, so get a new one. You can find them out there on eBay, etc., for less than $300, or spend up for a nice black canvas one ($400?). Driver's window is broken - gone - but I have procured an original replacement to go with the car. Chrome is nice, but missing the chrome hood scoop trim. Sold with a State of South Carolina bill of sale only, no title; I believe the car came out of Georgia, which is a no title state for old cars. Here is how to handle: I am selling to you with a bill of sale, and you can obtain a title if you want by going to a title service like Broadway Title or International Title Service, or several others (look them up on the internet). I believe their fee would be around $400. However, depending on where you live (Georgia, Michigan, various other states), you can get a title with a bill of sale, or don't need a title at all, or can apply to the DMV for one. (Selected Rebuilt, Rebuildable for title category from eBay's drop down menu as closest fit.) Miles unknown; odometer says 81M. This is a really nice car that has never sat out and rusted, and that runs good. Very unusual, and in nice shape. Someone will be very happy to buy this. Please give me a call if interested; would like to clean out my garage. 864-884-3151 - thanks for looking.
