Up for auction is this amazing survivor 1978 Ford Fairmont Futura. 1978 was the first year for the Fairmont and the Futura was the top-of-the-line (sporty) model. Fairmonts were available with three engine choices: a four-cylinder, straight six or the 302 CI eight cylinder. This Futura is equipped with the 200 cubic inch straight six, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, AM radio. Please see photographs below. The odometer shows 79,153. The body of the car is very straight with only minor dings and dents. The worst is near the right-hand taillight which broke the edge of the taillight as well. A new taillight is on order and will be installed by the end of this auction. The car appears to have had 1 repaint in its original color. The interior is in very good original condition. The driver's seat does have some minor wear on the outer bolster and the carpet shows some wear on the driver's side. The rest of the interior is in very good original condition. Mechanically this Futura runs great. All the accessories, lights, etc. work as they should.
