DESCRIPTION: BUY IT NOW OR MAKE ME A REASONABLE OFFER TO BUY !! THIS IS THE WAY A BARRACUDA SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE PLYMOUTH FACTORY !!! EVERYONE AND HIS BROTHER HAS AN E-BODY, BUT THIS LITTLE BARRACUDA A-BODY IS AN EYE CATCHER NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO !! WE FINISHED THE RESTORATION OF MY BARRACUDA AND THEN IN 2010 IT APPEARED IN THE READERS RIDES SECTION OF "MUSCLECAR ENTHUSIAST" (May 2010) AND "MOPAR ACTION" (October 2010) - see the magazine photos below. FIRST OF ALL, I AM ONLY SELLING MY BARRACUDA BECAUSE I NOW HAVE 5 COLLECTOR CARS AND ONLY A 4 CAR GARAGE !! I RECENTLY FINISHED BUILDING A BRAND NEW HEMICUDA 6 SPEED CONVERTIBLE AND ACQUIRED A 1978 TRANS AM AND I NOW NEED THE GARAGE SPACE (see photo below) - BUT I AM NOT DESPERATE TO SELL IT !! MY BARRACUDA IS A PERSONAL CAR AND I AM NOT ANY KIND OF CAR DEALER !! For the restoration the car was taken down to the body shell and then restored. The car has been driven less than 2,500 miles since restoration and has always been garage-kept and its' car cover comes with the car ! All photos below were taken on November 3, 2012 (except the one engine rebuild photo from Sept. 2012). BODY - Car taken down to the body shell – interior, top, and suspension removed - and was prepped and painted inside and out. Good solid body which was prepped and painted with several coats of black and then several coats of clear with wet sanding. Bumpers, hood scoop inserts, and several original trim pieces were re-chromed and all stainless steel pieces polished. All new Barracuda and Plymouth emblems installed. Hood inserts are 1968 inserts ( I have 1967 inserts that come with the car). Rear spoiler was added and then a white bumblebee trunk stripe from Phoenix Graphix. Installed new fully retractable antenna and front road lamps. Paint is very nice with just a few scratches or nicks and you can see from the photos how nice it looks. Body is very solid and floor pans, frame, and understructure are very solid. Note: This car is NOT an original Formula S car, just a tribute Formula S car. ENGINE - When we restored the body, interior and suspension we retained the car's original Plymouth 273 cubic inch V8 engine - the previous owner had bored the block .040 over and we did not go into the short block - but we did do the following: we cleaned the heads which had new valves and shaved the heads a little to up compression slightly, tri-angle valve job, and new Proform roller tip rocker arms with lock nuts; added a new 340 Six Pack intake and carbs vacuum setup – the intake was Jet Coated; added MSD billet distributor, Blaster coil, and 6AL ignition spark box with stainless sleeved high ignition plug wire set; some new March performance stainless pullies and brackets; added new 75 amp one-wire alternator, new miniature starter, new relay solenoid; installed new gas tank fuel sending unit, and Summit electric fuel pump & filter at the gas tank with stainless wire fuel lines from rear to motor; rodded and cored the radiator; and relocated battery to the trunk with a battery cutoff switch. Installed lots of chrome and polished stainless steel hoses and other pieces in the engine compartment. Early this year, the compression got low in two cylinders and engine was not running well, so we pulled and rebuilt the engine: machine shop cleaned, miked, and honed the block; new oil & compression rings; new main & cam bearings; turned the crank; double roller timing chain; high pressure oil pump; high flow water pump and thermostat; new SFI harmonic balancer; installed new solid lifter camshaft, lifters, and valve springs designed by Hughes Engines for vacuum on the Six Pack setup; heads and valves cleaned and checked as well; and new engine gasket set; (see engine rebuild photo below). Engine was finished and installed in September 2012 and has less than 200 miles since installation and has great oil pressure and temperature. New Six Pack air cleaner lid and new battery recently installed. DRIVETRAIN - Brakes – added new chrome master cylinder, Wildwood front disc brakes, new rear brakes shoes & turned drums. Installed new chrome power steering pump. Added big block torque bars up front with new larger front sway bar and polyurethane bushings; New rear leaf springs with offset shackles; 4 new KYB gas shocks; and lowered the car about 3-4 inches. Rear End - 8 ¾ Mopar rear end with a rebuilt posi-trac unit and set of 3.55 gears from Randy’s Gears. Installed 4 new Koni shocks. Transmission is the original 4 speed with a rebuilt Hurst shifter and a one of kind custom built Pistol Grip shifter – don’t see many A-bodies with a pistol grip and a console. Clutch was new when when we restored the car and clutch and transmission shift good. EXHAUST - Installed Hedmann shorty hedders – they were first Jet Coated like the intake manifold; installed a complete Magnaflow 2.5 inch exhaust system with an X pipe and stainless tips through the rear valence panel (like the later E bodies). The Barracuda has a sweet rumbly sound. CONVERTIBLE TOP, INTERIOR & TRUNK - TOP - top frame painted, new convertible top with glass window and new wheel well liner installed. The electric/hydraulic top works well and top is in great condition with only two small pinholes. Top boot is in great condition. INTERIOR - metal repainted when the body was a shell; then installed new Legendary seat covers, new carpet, new armrest pads. Dynomax heat/sound insulation laid down before new carpet installed. New door panels installed. Dash was re-chromed and painted by Mr. G’s and some other interior parts re-chromed. Dash pad is very nice. Original Plymouth Rally dash gauges installed (150 mph speedo & oil/temp/amp gauges) and a new electric tachometer from The Paddock. New ignition switch, trunk lock, and keys. New heater core and fan motor installed and blows good. New oil & temp gauges and a vacuum gauge installed on the center console. New Grant wood steering wheel (the original Plymouth sport wheel comes with the car). New front seatbelts. CustomAutoSound radio with remote installed with new kick panels with built in speakers – radio is wired for XM Satellite with the XM port in the glovebox. New dash tachometer works well and the rally dash amp meter works, but the speedometer and gas gauge do not work and need to be fixed. Electrical system and lights work well although dash lights are dim. TRUNK – Trunk pans are in very nice condition, trunk mounted battery is new, and a new trunk mat just installed. WHEELS & TIRES - We installed four new Centerline 17x7 inch rims with 4.5 inch backspace and four new Diamond Back dual redline 245/60R17 tires. This little Barracuda was built as a fun cruiser and show car and it drives very well. It was not built as a race car or speed demon car. “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES - This vehicle is sold "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES except for good Title.
