Interested Buyers: You are bidding on a SHARP non-runing 1998 Mistubishi Eclipse GST, jet black, turbo with very clean interior. You will be buying this car as-is, where is. I will tell you all that I know about the vehicle, however, it is as you see it. Here's the story. I bought this car a couple months back for my son with aspirations of bringing it back to its previous glorious form. When I bought it, from a guy that I knew, the timing belt was blown, he didnt know why, what else may be wrong, nothing. I bought it as is as well. My son and I began to disassemble the motor(4G63T - 7 bolt) to gain access o the timing belt and found that the balancer belt was also broken. Further examination revealed that the oil pump had ceased and both center crank bearings are bad. This is exactly where the car has sat, and currently sits now. We were going to replace it and continue with the repair, but are aprehensive where the rebuild may end. Ultimately, he wants the car to run, but the desire to work on it for an indefinite period of time, he does not. Therefore, we are selling it. The interior as you'll see in the pictures, is in Very Good condition. The exterior has some opportunites, but overall is in good condition. The opportunities include a cracked front clip and driver's side door sagging (the lower hinge needs to be replaced/has been sprung). These cars have a history of rusting in the shock towers and wheel wells in the Northern states, and this one is no different. Although this rust exists, its my feeling as wells as others (body shop/collision guys), that the car holds potential in experienced hands. I feel confident in this vehicles value, have sold vehicles with 100% positive feedback before, and to the right person, this vehicle has potential to the right individual.
