Vehicle Detail

This Corvair now has a new rebuilt engine, replaced 3.28 differential that replaces a 3.08 economy differential of unknown condition, a four speed transmission checked out by Kennedy Auto, four new Sears Guardian white wall 14"tires with less than 50 miles, and a clean restored painted cab with a nice original seat with seat belts, a replaced used windshield from California Corvairs, Jeff Williams. The engine is a late model 110hp engine with a new valve job on the heads, new hydraulic lifters, new copper gaskets. new bearings on .010 crankshaft and rods. Pistons were measured and left with existing rings. All new gaskets used in rebuilding the engine. The carbs were rebuilt with new kits. A new throw out bearing and clutch were installed as was a new bronze input shaft bushing.A rebuilt alternator was added as well as a new voltage regulator. A nice battery tray was installed. The dash was replaced with a 61 original as the Turbo dash was not correct. This left a bundle of wires under the dash and in the engine area.A new owner may want to keep them. Now the fix it part.I had used black rust restorer on rust that I can see. Over the grey primer that was on the truck it is obvious as to location. This was to point out the area. Not a huge amount or dangerous although there may be some below. I am 88 years young and a day on the concrete floor puts me on the couch for 2/3 days.I have the equipment to pull and engine, take it apart, etc. Body work, welding, painting and things like that are no longer in my life.It is basically a nice Rampside and the body work and paint will make this a very nice truck. There is some electrical problems, minor, such as the turn indicator and a couple lights on the dash. That is it and I hope some younger person takes this one on.With a new engine I would not take it on a long drive right away.
